(Minghui.org) My granddaughter had a fever and was coughing on January 18, 2020. She said she had been infected by her colleague from Chengdu in Sichuan Province. One of her friends drove her to the hospital.
Doctors could not determine whether her symptoms were due to the Wuhan coronavirus, so she was released. She told us she was sweating a lot from the fever and could not speak clearly because of the coughing. We were all worried. I told her over the phone to sincerely recite, “Falun Dafa is good.”
When she was younger, she learned Falun Dafa from us and helped us raise awareness of the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Her grandfather and I were persecuted multiple times for our faith, and she also suffered a lot because her classmates were misled by the Party’s propaganda and discriminated against her at school.
She booked a train ticket and planned to come home on January 21 for the Chinese New Year (January 25). Her fever was gone by January 20, but she was coughing a lot. Her friend recited “Falun Dafa is good” with her, and her condition improved somewhat.
The next day, however, her cough grew more severe. She could not take the train because they were screening for people with coronavirus infections. I worried that she might not be able to come home.
She spent a lot of money and got a ride home on January 22. She was still coughing. Her mother asked her to stay in a separate room from us and eat separately. Nevertheless, I took care of her. I asked her to listen to recorded lectures by Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa. She still had a cough a few days later. I criticized her and said she was not sincere. She burst into tears.
I suddenly recalled that she had written she was a member of the Communist Youth League on her curriculum vitae. She had graduated from college last year and was looking for a job near home. I thought this must be the reason her condition had not improved. I explained the principles of quitting the Party to her clearly and told her she needed to do so sincerely.
She agreed and did as I suggested. Her cough stopped right away!
