(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in eight provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Lihua Arrested

Ms. Xu Lihua was reported to the police on the evening of March 2, 2020, for posting informational materials about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Huachang Police Station, and her home was ransacked.

Ms. Xu was later released on medical parole.

2. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Daxiu and Ms. Chen Qiuju Arrested

Ms. Liu Daxiu, 80, and Ms. Chen Qiuju, 51, were reported to the police on the morning of April 5, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Nanjinlu Police Station, and copies of Zhuan Falun, Minghui Weekly, Falun Gong informational materials, and keepsakes were confiscated.

Both practitioners were interrogated and photographed before being released later that day.

3. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Wang Guixin Arrested

Ms. Wang Guixin was arrested on March 16, 2020, and released later that day.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Dong Wenxiu’s Case Turned Over to Court

Ms. Dong Wenxiu, 58, from the Xiangfang District, was arrested by officers from the Railway Police Department on September 11, 2019. She is being held in the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center. Her case was turned over the Harbin Railway Court.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Chang Shurong Arrested

Ms. Chang Shurong from Zhangfang Town in the Fangshan District was arrested when she passed through the Zhangfang epidemic prevention checkpoint by officers from the Fangshan Domestic Security Division and the Zhangfang Police Station on April 7, 2020. Her home was ransacked.

6. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xu Zhandong Arrested

Mr. Xu Zhandong from Donggang City was arrested on the ground floor of his apartment building on the afternoon of April 5, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The arrest was made by four officers from the Development Zone Police Station who had been following and monitoring him for days.

Mr. Xu was interrogated at the police station and held there for two days. He was released on bail on April 7 after being forced to pay 10,000 yuan.

7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Elderly Ms. Tong Xianzhen Arrested

Officers from the Wuhua District Domestic Security Division and the Haiyuan Police Station broke into elderly Ms. Tong Xianzhen’s home on the evening of March 24, 2020, and ransacked the place. She was taken to the police station for interrogation and released the next morning.

Two officers from the Haiyuan Police Station went to Ms. Tong’s home on the afternoon of March 30. They took her to a hospital for a physical exam before taking her to the police station. She was released later that night.

Ms. Tong was arrested again on April 1. She was taken to the police station where she was photographed and had her fingerprints taken. Ms. Tong was transferred to the Kunming City Detention Center that evening, but they refused to admit her.

The police called Ms. Tong's daughter and son, ordering them to go through bail proceedings that night and demanded they pay 3,000 yuan.

8. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Cases of Four Practitioners Turned Over to Procuratorate

The cases of Ms. Wang Xiuying, Ms. Xie Qingfen, Ms. Liu Tifei, and Ms. Jiang Zhaoying have been transferred to the Shushan District Procuratorate.

Ms. Wang was arrested in November 2019, and her home ransacked. She was later released.

The other practitioners were also released soon after being arrested.

Mr. Huang Qiangsheng, 51, from the Tianhe District was arrested by officers from the Shadong Police Station on the afternoon of April 7, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. He was taken to the Guangzhou City No. 2 Detention Center the following day.

Ms. Luo Jiangying, in her 40s, was arrested on March 30, 2020, and her home ransacked. She is being held in the Suixi County Detention Center.

Ms. Luo has been arrested many times over the years and held in brainwashing centers and forced labor camps.

11. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Fengju and Ms. Liu Yunying's Cases Passed to Court

Ms. Ma Fengju and Ms. Liu Yunying were arrested on September 25, 2019, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Fushun Detention Center.

Ms. Ma and Ms. Liu's cases were recently were submitted to the Wanghua District Court.
