(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in nine provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Qingwu Arrested

Mr. Zhang Qingwu from Xinglong Town was reported to the police on the afternoon of May 21, 2020, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. He was arrested by officers from the Xinglong Police Station, and his home was ransacked.

2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wang Xiuhua and five other practitioners were reported to the police on the morning of May 27, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Hongyazi Township Farmers’ Market. They were arrested by officers from the Hongyazi Police Station. Their homes were ransacked.

The six practitioners are being held in the Huludao City Detention Center.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhou Momei, Ms. Lin Wangmei, Ms. Peng Silian, and Ms. Xu Jianying were arrested by officers from the Xinzhou District 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the police department on the afternoon of May 21, 2020. Their Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

4. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Chen Honglan Detained

Ms. Chen Honglan was taken to the Heiniwa Detention Center.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xian Mingzhen, Ms. Zeng Qingxiu, and Ms. Li Fangling from the Longquanyi District were arrested by plainclothes police on the morning of May 26, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Li was released later that evening. Ms. Xian and Ms. Zeng were taken to a detention center.

6. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Yang Shugui and His Wife Ms. Tang Juzhang Arrested

Mr. Yang Shugui and his wife Ms. Tang Juzhang were arrested by the head of the Feidong County Domestic Security Division and other officers on the afternoon of May 22, 2020. Their home was ransacked, and a laptop, printer, cell phones, DVDs, Falun Dafa books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated.

Mr. Yang was released the following afternoon. Ms. Tang was held on the second floor of Hubin Hospital, Changjian Town, Feidong County.

7. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Fengju and Ms. Lan Fenglian Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengju, 76, from Zhongcun Village, and Ms. Lan Fenglian from Zhaojia Village, Zhangxing Town, were arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of May 22, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang and Ms. Lan were taken to the Economic Development Zone Police Station, where they were interrogated. Their Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

8. [Chongqing] Cases of Mr. Wang Maoru and Ms. Liu Chengbi Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Wang Maoru was arrested on August 8, 2019. He is being held in the Liziba Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Chengbi was arrested on the same day and is being held in the Shibanpo Detention Center.

The Shiyoulu Police Station in the Yuzhong District has turned their cases over to the Jiulongpo District Procuratorate.

9. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Zongmei and Ms. Liu Chunqin Arrested

Ms. Yang Zongmei, 84, was arrested at her front door by officers from the Cigutang Police Station on the morning of May 26, 2020. Her bag was searched.

Ms. Liu Chunqin, 45, was arrested on May 27 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center.

10. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yang Shuhe and Ms. Sheng Li Arrested

Ms. Yang Shuhe, 78, from Chongqing's Jiangjin District was arrested by plainclothes officers at her daughter’s home in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, on the morning of May 23, 2020. Her daughter’s home was ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Sheng Li was recorded on surveillance cameras posting Falun Gong informational materials on May 26. She was arrested. Her whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Xiuying (in her 80s), Mr. Liu Jinming (in his 60s), and Ms. Lai Fangping from the Anyuan District were arrested on the afternoon of May 20, 2020, for studying the Falun Dafa teachings together.

Jiang Ping, head of the Anyuan Domestic Security Division, along with officers from the Houbu Police Station, made the arrest. They confiscated the practitioners' Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Dafa.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Xu Yan, her husband Mr. Zhang Xianjun, and Ms. Li Huimin from the Shuangcheng District were reported to the police on the morning of May 16, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

They were arrested by officers from the Shuangcheng Criminal Investigation Division, the Dongfeng Police Station, and officer Wang Yubiao from the Shuangcheng Domestic Security Division.

They were taken to the Nanjie Criminal Investigation Division, where they were interrogated and had their fingerprints taken. Their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Xu and Mr. Zhang were placed under criminal detention. Ms. Li was detained for ten days.
