(Minghui.org) Editors' note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution.
Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
Xu Wendou, director of the “610 Office” in Jianghan Oil Field in Hubei Province, recently died of coronavirus.
Since July 1999, Xu had actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong. A large number of Falun Gong practitioners in the local area were imprisoned or suffered other injustice as a result of false accusations fabricated by Xu Wendou and his accomplices.
Xu originally worked as a regular employee in a forced labor camp. He was transferred to work in the police station in Jianghan Oil Field in 1999 after an organizational restructure.
As soon as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its nationwide persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, Xu became a daring henchman and was soon promoted to head the local “610 Office,” an extralegal agency created with sole purpose of persecuting Falun Gong.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Aiping used to be sickly with all kinds of ailments. She quickly regained her health after learning Falun Gong and began to live by its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
However, she suffered much harassment and persecution at the hands of Xu.
At around 8:00 a.m. on May 15, 2008, police officers broke into Ms. Zhou's home and arrested her under the instruction of Xu.
She was unlawfully arrested again in 2012 and detained at Hubei Women’s Forced Labor Camp for 15 days. The police told her family that she would be released on November 16, but when her family members went to pick her up, they found that Ms. Zhou had been secretly transferred somewhere else the night before. The authorities refused to reveal her new detention location.
Ms. Zhou would later be released and subsequently arrested a few more times for refusing to renounce her faith in Falun Gong.
Jianghan Oil Field is a large state-owned enterprise, and many employees have family members practice Falun Gong.
Making use of this fact, Xu assigned “tasks” to each work unit in the enterprise to force its employees' family members who practiced Falun Gong to renounce the practice. If the family members refused, the employees would have their job and pay suspended. For example, if an employee's parents practiced Falun Gong, the enterprise would suspend the employee from work until his/her parents gave up the practice. The parents would be detained.
Xu spared no effort in sending large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners to brainwashing centers, and more than 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners suffered severe persecution as a result. Almost every practitioner in his or her 30s was sentenced to prison.
The CCP rewarded Xu with privileges and cash incentives for his “merits” in persecuting Falun Gong, so even though he worked in the Tier 3 city of Qianjiang, he was able to purchase a house in the capital city of Wuhan for his family, where the cost of living was comparable to that in Shanghai (a Tier 1 city).
Throughout the years, local and overseas Falun Gong practitioners tried to urge Xu to stop taking part in the persecution, but to no avail. Even after his retirement, he still acted as an advisor to his successor in persecuting Falun Gong.
Xu contracted the coronavirus when he went back home to Wuhan during the Chinese New Year period. Even though he managed to get a hospital bed and underwent open chest surgery when it was extremely difficult for average citizens to secure a bed, he eventually succumbed to the virus. He was in his 60s.
