(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in eight provinces, where at least 29 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners from Same Family Arrested and Released

Mr. Qin Songfa and two relatives, Ms. Xu Xiuzhen, and Ms. Qin Shaoying were arrested at home by Wu Fenggui and others from the Xiazhuang Town Police Station on the evening of June 21, 2020. Their home was ransacked. They were taken to the police station and interrogated separately.

Mr. Qin, Ms. Xu Xiuzhen, and Ms. Qin were later released.

2. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Tried in Court, Several Others Arrested and Released

Ms. Wang Xiuqin, Ms. Xie Yuxia, and Mr. Li Ning were tried by the Rencheng District Court on June 9, 2020.

Approximately five other practitioners, including Mr. Qi Yong and Ms. Miao, were arrested as they waited outside the court to support the practitioners on trial. They were released the next day.

3. [Leizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. He Yuan and Mr. Wu Ming Held in Detention Center

Mr. He Yuan and Mr. Wu Ming are retired teachers from the Leizhou City No. 1 Primary School. The police escorted them to their lodgings at the school on April 21, 2020, and ransacked them. Mr. He and Mr. Wu were taken either to the Zhanjiang or Suixi Detention Center and have been held there ever since.

4. [Chongqing] Mr. Luo Taiqing Under House Arrest

Mr. Luo Taiqing from the Jiangjin District was arrested on April 6, 2020. He was taken to the Jiangjin Detention Center but was not admitted because his physical exam results showed a shadow on his lung. He was then taken to the Jiulongpo Detention Center, which took him in, even though the exam still showed the shadow on his lung.

Mr. Luo was released on May 12 and has been under house arrest ever since.

5. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Su Ying and Ms. Zhou Weili Held in Detention Center

Ms. Su Ying and Ms. Zhou Weili were reported to the authorities on the morning of June 18, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers in a patrol car.

They were passed on to officers from the Qinggong Police Station in the Xinglongtai District.

Ms. Su and Ms. Zhou were each given 15 days of administrative detention and are being held in the Panjin City Detention Center.

6. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Lu Banggui Tried in Court

Officers went to the home of Mr. Lu Banggui on June 17, 2020, to inform him that his second court hearing was to be held the following day. His family has not heard anything about him since the police took him away on June 18.

7. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Guoqin Arrested

Ms. Xu Guoqin from Shalan Town in Ningan City was arrested by officers from the Shalan Police Station on the morning of June 22, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Cao Jin’e Held in Police Station

Ms. Cao Jin’e was arrested at home by officers from the Tongzhou District's Huoxian Town Police Station. They used a metal bar to break the lock on her door and ransacked the place. They confiscated Falun Gong books, audio players, and other belongings.

Ms. Cao was taken to a detention center but was not admitted after they checked her temperature. The officers took her back to the police station and held her for several days.

9. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dai Yuzhi Arrested and Released, Three Others Charged

Ms. Dai Yuzhi was arrested by officers from the Fenghuangcheng Police Department on May 25, 2020. She has since been released.

Mr. Ju Shimiao, Ms. Sun Zhongqin, and Ms. Dong Xiuhong were indicted by the Zhengan District Procuratorate in Dandong City. The Zhengan Court returned the cases to the Fengcheng City Domestic Security Division. Two officers from the Domestic Security Division went to Mr. Ju's home and harassed his family.

Mr. Ju is being held in the Fengcheng Detention Center. Ms. Sun and Ms. Dong are being held in the Dandong Detention Center.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Han Yuqin Died in Police Custody, Ms. Yue Weifang in Intensive Care, Three Practitioners Detained, Ms. Wang Xianling's Husband Arrested and Released the Same Day

Ms. Han Yuqin from Xianhanzhuang in the Fengrun District was arrested at home in the early hours of June 18, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Duanming Road Police Station and died at around 4 p.m. that afternoon.

Ms. Yue Weifang lost consciousness while officers threatened her and ransacked her home in the early hours of June 18. When her son took her to the hospital, she was immediately admitted to intensive care.

Mr. Yang Chenghui and his son are being held in the Fengrun Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Yuejun is being held in the Tangshan First Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Xianling's home in Beiguan Village was ransacked. Her husband was arrested and released later in the day.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Dang Liying Held in Detention Center

Ms. Dang Liying from the Hexi District was arrested on her way to work at the Darunfa Supermarket on the morning of June 12, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books, computers, printers, and other belongings were confiscated.

She is being held in the Wushuidao Detention Center.

12. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiuli Arrested and Released

Ms. Liu Xiuli, in her 70s, from the Wendeng District was arrested on June 21, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was interrogated in the Longshan Police Station and later released.

13. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Zhongsu Arrested and Released the Same Day, Mr. Zhuang Yuan's Pension Shorted

Ms. Deng Zhongsu from the Qingbaijiang District was arrested by Datong Police Station officers on the morning of June 19, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The Falun Gong materials she was carrying were confiscated. Ms. Deng was held in the police station until after 3 p.m. Coworkers from the Panchenggang Retirement Office came to take her home.

Mr. Zhuang Huan, 74, has been monitored and harassed since he filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party. To avoid harassment, he stayed away from home. Five thousand yuan has been deducted from his monthly pension since March 2020.

14. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Mr. Fan Xinglong Arrested, Mr. Tian Hui Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Fan Xinglong was arrested by officers from the Taihe County Domestic Security Division on June 15, 2020. Falun Gong books and an MP3 player were confiscated.

Mr. Tian Hui is being held in a brainwashing center inside the Jianianhua Hotel in Taihe Wetland Park.
