(Minghui.org) Two sisters in Shandong Province were sentenced to prison for their faith in Falun Gong three months apart.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Xu Chuanxiang, of Rizhao City, was arrested on July 3, 2019 for putting up informational materials about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her three Falun Gong books, two computers and a motorcycle. She was sentenced to three years in December 2020 and will be transferred from Rizhao Detention Center to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison later this month.
Her sister, Ms. Xu Chuanmei, who lives about 60 miles away in Qingdao City, was arrested on November 19, 2019 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was detained at the Pudong Detention Center and sentenced to three years by the Bei District Court on September 15, 2020.
On July 17, 2020, the police arrested Ms. Xu Chuanmei’s son and interrogated him on where his mother got her Falun Gong books and whether he knew other practitioners.
