(Minghui.org) Ding is an elderly woman in rural China. People in her village practiced Falun Dafa before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting the spiritual practice on July 20, 1999. She wanted to practice Dafa so she obtained a copy of Zhuan Falun from a practitioner. However, no matter how hard she tried, she could not read a single word because she was illiterate.
She was very worried but the anxiety did not help the situation. In the end, she held the book in her arms, knelt down in the yard and sobbed all afternoon.
Surprisingly, when Ding opened the book the next day, she could read all the words.
How she learned to read Minghui Weekly was also amazing. When Minghui Weekly was published, Ding was unable to read it because she could only recognize a few words. She thought she would improve her reading ability by hand-copying Zhuan Falun. Although she had never used a pen before, she began this very difficult task.
She had no idea how to properly make the strokes required to form Chinese characters. For example, horizontal strokes are written from left to right; but Ding moved the pen from right to left. She was painting each word in Zhuan Falun literally, rather than writing in the conventional way.
Ding’s tremendous effort and determination to copy Zhuan Falun were remarkable. After she finished copying the book, she was able to read Minghui Weekly.
