(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Officially Arrested
Officers from the Hongqi Street Police Station arrested Ms. Cui Yanling and Ms. Wang Ying at Ms. Cui’s home on September 9, 2021. Many items from Ms. Cui’s home were taken during the arrest. Their arrests are now officially approved and the cases against them have been submitted to the Procuratorate.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Han Yingzhi Arrested
Ms. Han Yingzhi from Faku County was arrested by officers from the Shenyang Police Department and the Faku Police Department after coming home from work at around 5 p.m. on October 9, 2021. Her home was ransacked and left in shambles.
She was arrested on the same day that Ms. Guo Xuhong from Faku County was arrested. Her situation is still being looked into.
3. [Dachang County, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners To be Tried
Ms. Zhang Guizhen and Ms. Yang Shufang were arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on October 10, 2020. They were originally scheduled to be tried by the Xianghe Court on October 14, 2021. The trial date was rescheduled to October 26, 2021.
4. [Shanghai] Ms. Lin Qiupeng Harassed
Since August 1, 2021 agents from the Hongqiao Neighborhood Administration Office have directed guards at a residential quarter to record when Ms. Lin Qiupeng went out and when she returned. Agents from the Ping’an Office often go to Ms. Lin’s home or call her to harass her. On October 1-15, 2021, 7 a.m. to 12 a.m., they waited near her home to continue monitoring and following Ms. Lin.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Jinfang Faces Trial
The Chaoyang Court recently notified Ms. Zhang Jinfang to get ready for her trial. A year ago Ms. Zhang was reported to police and then arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people. She was detained for two days, then released on bail. The police recently informed Ms. Zhang that she will be tried before her case is closed.
6. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Guang Harassed
Gu Xiangfei, Party secretary of the Qingsheng Village, led several agents to harass Ms. Wang Guang at her home on September 28, 2021. They threatened to take Ms. Wang away if she refused to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong.
They went to harass Ms. Wang again at her grandson’s wedding. Ms. Wang and her non-practitioner husband Ms. Chen Jinquan had no choice but to sign the paper to renounce Falun Gong against their will.
7. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Two Practitioners Harassed
Agents from the Ningcheng Domestic Security Division, Mangnong Town Government, and Sanjia Village went to Ms. Li Xiuyun’s home in early 2021. They asked her whether she still practiced Falun Gong, along with other questions. Ms. Li, 84 years old, deflected their questions and did not respond directly. Agents stayed at her home for a long time before leaving.
Agents from the Ningcheng Domestic Security Division and Sanjia Village went to Ms. Fan Meiling’s home to search for her at the beginning of 2021. They were told that Ms. Fan had left home years ago in order to avoid persecution. The agents checked other villagers’ homes and then left.
8. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Desheng Held in Detention Center for Almost 4 Months
Mr. Li Desheng, 20, went to a store to exchange banknotes with facts about Falun Gong written on. He was reported to the police. The police ransacked his home on June 24, 2021 and seized all his Falun Gong books, calligraphy and painting of Falun Gong’s founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi’s image and articles, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, Falun Gong lectures on VCD, a computer, a printer, several hundred banknotes with facts about Falun Gong written on them, some informational materials about Falun Gong, and cell phones. Mr. Li Desheng was taken to the Huazhou Police Station the same day and later transferred to the Haizhu District Detention Center.
Mr. Li’s arrest was officially approved on July 26, 2021. He is still being held in the Haizhu District Detention Center.
9. [Shanghai] Ms. Yu Yang Missing
Ms. Yu Yang, 73, has not been seen or heard from by her family and friends since May 4, 2020. No further information is available.
10. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked
With a photo of practitioners seized from an arrested practitioner’s home, officers from the Xishan District Domestic Security Division and the local police station barged into Ms. Li Qiongfen’s home and ransacked it on September 28, 2021. They confiscated her Falun Gong books along with other belongings and took Ms. Li to the police station. After they interrogated her they released her at around 5 p.m. that day.
These officers ransacked Ms. Qu Yuexian’s home on the same day and confiscated her Falun Gong books, among other items. Ms. Qu, 88, was taken to the police station and interrogated. She was released around midnight that day.
11. [Arxan City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Chen Zhengjun and His Wife Arrested
Mr. Zhen Zhengjun and his wife, Ms. Gu Fengrong, were arrested on August 20, 2021. Their whereabouts are unknown.
