(Minghui.org) The RTC platform is where Falun Dafa practitioners call people in China to tell them about Falun Dafa and the persecution, and encourage them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations.
Recently, an elderly practitioner working on the RTC platform reached out to me anxiously. She had helped nine people quit the CCP that morning but made a mistake with a phone number. She blamed herself for “letting sentient beings down” and asked if someone else could follow it up. After I connected her with another practitioner, she thanked me repeatedly and returned to the platform.
I couldn’t stop thinking that she did not at all sound like someone who was 88 years old. She was so energetic in doing a Dafa practitioner's work. I was also surprised that, despite many rooms full of practitioners on the platform, she specifically came to me.
I realized that Master was giving me a hint: I should pay more attention and be responsible for my task.
My task was to compile persecution cases. Among the persecution cases on the Minghui website, many were about elderly practitioners who were arrested for distributing truth-clarification materials and then illegally detained. Some were sentenced to prison. Those were only a small portion of what were reported on the Minghui website. I couldn’t help admire the elderly practitioners’ strong faith in Dafa.
Master Protects Me During an Accident
I once had an accident where my motorcycle ended up in a ditch full of water. Afterward, I heard from a local practitioner that typically there wasn't much water in that ditch. I found myself sitting on a stone slab, surrounded by half a dozen people staring down at me.
My mind was blank, and I felt a bit deflated. Soon, an ambulance arrived and two paramedics brought over a stretcher. One of them asked if I could move onto the stretcher by myself, and suggested that I try moving my left foot, but I couldn’t.
Before I could respond to the paramedic, he said that my leg was broken. After I was discharged from the hospital, I was muddleheaded and my body felt heavy for a while. The idea of memorizing the Fa kept popping into my mind, and I started memorizing the Fa.
After starting to memorize the Fa, my cultivation state improved and I was able to recall more of the accident. The more I played back the accident in my mind, the more I was thankful for Master's protection.
As I was approaching the intersection, my eyes were closed, almost in a state of unconsciousness, but somehow I ended up riding the motorcycle about a dozen meters from the traffic lights. My bike hit the stone slab next to the ditch with a loud bang.
My bike was full of gas and would probably have caused sparks that would ignite the fuel tank as it hit the stone with such force. But as there was more water than usual in the ditch, any fire caused by sparks igniting the fuel tank was avoided. What was even more incredible was that I survived and was miraculously sitting up, looking across the street at a practitioner’s store.
This accident forced me to look inward. I realized that it occurred because I didn't pay attention to cultivation and didn't understand how to cultivate.
While recuperating at home, I had difficulty moving around. Yet, I wanted to clarify the facts to help awaken people’s conscience and keep up with the progress of Fa-rectification.
Master said,
As Dafa disciples clarify the truthSharp swords shoot forth from their mouthsTearing open the rotten demons’ liesLose no time and save them, hurry up and tell them”(“Hurry Up And Tell Them,” Hong Yin Vol. II, Translation Version A)
Making Phone Calls
I saw a notice about a combined session of Fa study and truth-clarification experience sharing in my county every Saturday afternoon, so I went.
Due to the location, parking was difficult. I finally found a spot and parked my car about 300 meters away from the site. I got out of the car, used a walker, and moved step by step with great difficulty. With each step, my left foot hurt and my body felt very heavy. I moved carefully, watching out for pedestrians and my surroundings.
I couldn’t help recalling the moment when I met Master Li in person in 2014, which brought tears to my eyes. At that time, I stood in front of Master with my head down, because I did not dare to face Master. After a while, I took the sheet of Shen Yun lyrics from Master’s hand and said, “Thank you, Master!” I didn't understand Master’s intention at the time.
After examining my current situation, I came to understand Master’s Fa,
“Cultivation is not hard,It’s attachments that are hard to part with. When will you sever those many attachments?
All know the sea of hardship has no shore. If your will is not firm,The hurdles are like mountains. How will you transcend this mortal life?”(“Severing (in Yuan Verse), Hong Yin Vol. II, Translation Version A)
It was a short walk, but it took me 30 minutes to get there. After Fa study and experience sharing, a practitioner offered me a ride back to my car, but I declined politely. I appreciated the practitioner’s kindness, but I had to walk every step firmly and steadily by myself.
Master said,
“This is because a person’s wish is very important—what you want, and what you want to do. If you say, “I want to cultivate Buddhahood,” then a Buddha might help you. Why is that? This one thought is really precious, for in an environment this difficult you still want to cultivate into a Buddha.” (“Teaching the Fa in New York City,” Lectures in the United States)
I am so grateful for Master’s arrangement for my being introduced to the RTC platform by a fellow practitioner. On the platform, no matter what problems I encountered, I felt as if I have found a home.
In particular, twice a month, we made phone calls to target areas where the persecution was severe. With such large scale truth-clarification, we were able to assist practitioners in China by exposing the persecution against them and alleviating the pressure they experienced.
We shared our experiences at 10 p.m. after the phone calls ended every day. Seeing fellow practitioners’ selfless dedication, I compared that to myself and felt the gap was huge. In such a good cultivation environment, I had the righteous thought that I could learn from them and advance diligently with other practitioners; we could improve together and ascend as a whole body.
Although I was doing the three things every day, I understood different degrees of effort could bring about different effects in truth-clarification.
For a long time, I relied on using a script to make the phone calls. However, seeing practitioners clarifying the facts without using a script made me envy their ability. I came to understand that they could do this because they had put so much effort into it and had accumulated so much knowledge and experience over the years.
I later took on the task of compiling persecution cases that provided information on the public prosecutors and law enforcement personnel who were involved in the persecution. Every day, I compiled cases based on urgency and gave them to practitioners who made the phone calls.
I had no experience, so I looked at how others did it, and my coordinator helped correct my mistakes. For example, I sometimes got the names of the places wrong, such as mistaking Shanxi for Jiangxi. To avoid any further oversight or interference, I learned to carefully verify everything before putting it out on the platform for practitioners to use. I also learned to pay attention to my own cultivation state.
Through doing this task, I found that my impatience was slowly removed. At the same time, I became proactive in my duty. One day, the platform sent out a message of emergency rescue of a practitioner who had been arrested. Those who got the message all went to the emergency rescue room to make phone calls.
It was my first time to compile an emergency rescue case in which a practitioner in China had just been arrested and was taken to a police station. I was trembling all over and could barely hold the mouse. Even though I was not the one at the police station, I felt for the practitioner there.
The only thing on my mind was to quickly find the phone numbers of the workplaces involved in the arrest from available information and put it on the platform. The platform manager could then dispatch the numbers to practitioners to make phone calls to demand the practitioner’s unconditional release within 24 hours.
With Master’s strengthening, everyone worked as one body, making non-stop phone calls to clarify the facts and sending righteous thoughts. The practitioner was released unconditionally.
I found the whole experience amazing. Under such a harsh persecution environment, practitioners in China still persist in doing the three things, which is really remarkable. It's difficult for us in the comfortable environment of Taiwan to imagine what practitioners in China are going through.
Cultivation Improvement
My Internet provider of 10 years called me and said that a technician would come to my house to replace the current cable with fiber-optic ones and install a new box.
A few days after the work was done, someone from their customer service informed me about a promotion for long-term customers that would increase the internet speed from 100Mbps to 300Mbps for only 300 TWD (USD $11) a month. I declined the offer at first but soon regretted it because I realized my truth-clarification tools needed faster Internet. I called back and accepted their offer.
Time for Fa-rectification is running out, and the RTC platform has increased its truth-clarification efforts to awaken the conscience of people in China. We tend to target those who still hold hopes for the CCP, especially those working for the courts and procuratorate, as they are responsible for many practitioners being sentenced to prison.
Therefore, practitioners firm in cultivation and truth-clarification were moved to the emergency rescue room on the platform, with the responsibility of targeting illegal court proceedings.
I strove to meet the platform’s demands by compiling persecution cases assigned to my group, and when I had time, I supported them by compiling cases.
When I was transferred to this team, one would think I should be familiar with everything, but I was not. I didn't know enough about the judicial process in China and rarely compiled cases of current-day court proceedings, so when I first started I was at a loss for what to do.
After the coordinator patiently explained the judicial process to me, I understood the roles and processes of court proceedings. Nevertheless, it often took me a long time to find the relevant information.
China has so many provinces, cities, counties and districts, and each have their own court websites. Sometimes I couldn't find complete information about the workplaces or individuals involved in the persecution, given that people were constantly transferring from place to place.
I used Google to search and was surprised to find so much useful information within a few clicks of the mouse. I came to realize I was offered the faster Internet speed for a reason.
Each group on the RTC platform has a different role, and the group responsible for illegal court proceedings covers the persecution cases that are in session. Every day I identified such cases, compiled the names of the involved workplaces, the phone numbers of the court by cross-referencing multiple websites, and put the information out on the platform.
I also compiled persecution cases involving brainwashing centers. In addition, I read the reports on the Minghui website every afternoon. I paid close attention to those who were arrested or whose whereabouts became unknown within the last three days.
I compiled the cases as quickly as possible so that practitioners who were scheduled to work that night could make the phone calls and clarify the facts in a timely manner.
I often worked past 1 a.m. to compile the cases for the next day’s trials. I felt physically exhausted from the mental stress and sitting in front of the computer for a long time. I felt I needed a rest. I explained my situation to the coordinator and asked if someone else could take over for a while. The coordinator replied, “Not at the moment. Try studying the Fa more, you will be able to overcome it.”
Soon, the chief coordinator became aware that I wanted to transfer back to my original group. He asked me sincerely, “Are you going to give up on your sentient beings? You have provided cases for this room for ten months, and we have seen how well you've done.” I couldn’t say anything.
The coordinator later asked me the real reason I wanted to leave. I gave him a random excuse. In fact, I didn't know what the real reason was.
One day, while sharing with other practitioners, I said something inappropriate. A fellow practitioner responded compassionately, “You are complaining!”
The word “complain” woke me up. I looked back at all the projects I had been involved in and realized it was always the same attachment that interfered with me. Whenever I encountered a problem or difficulty, instead of thinking about how to break through and solve the problem, I always wanted to avoid it. I always pushed responsibilities away and missed the opportunities Master had arranged for me to improve. I regretted my poor enlightenment quality.
Master said,
“...with particles of their gong in all dimensions acting in concert, creating it out of nothing in merely an instant. Yet this is done in the fastest of times possible, so it is accomplished at just the thought of it. Human beings don’t have this ability, so they have to do things manually.” (“Fa Teaching on World Falun Dafa Day”)
As I thought it over, I realized I was actually well suited for projects that were a bit challenging. I felt it was a sacred thing to perform well in a project such as this. Now, when I compile cases and look for information on the Internet, I can always find what I need with a few clicks of the mouse.
Master said,
“The above are the two reasons for not being able to increase gong. Without knowing the Fa at high levels, one cannot practice cultivation. Without cultivating one’s inner self and one’s xinxing, one cannot increase gong. These are the two reasons.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
I now take my cultivation state and improving my xinxing very seriously. I understand that only when my mind is pure can I understand higher Fa principles and do the three things well.
