(Minghui.org) One of two Qingdao City, Shandong Province residents who were tried in December 2020 was recently sentenced to a three-year prison term for her faith in Falun Gong. The other woman is still awaiting a verdict.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Sun Jifen was arrested in September 2019 after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. The other practitioner, Ms. Sun Cezhen, 65, was arrested in April 2020, also for talking to people about Falun Gong at a community event. Both were soon released on bail.
For the next few months, the authorities kept coming back to harass them. They were also summoned by the Jimo District Court.
In December 2020, they were taken back into custody and made to stand trial at the Jimo District Court. It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that Ms. Sun Cezhen had been sentenced to three years and Ms. Sun Jifen is still waiting for the verdict.
