(Minghui.org) Three Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province residents were arrested in early March 2021 for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. While two have been released, the third was taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center. Her family has been kept in the dark as to her current situation.
Ms. Qing Liju, 50, and Ms. Fu Shunju, in her 70s, were arrested on March 9, 2021 while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. A third practitioner, Ms. Xu Zhiqiong, in her 60s, was also arrested around the same time. All three practitioners had been followed by plainclothes officers before being arrested.
As Ms. Xu resisted being arrested, the plainclothes office tied her hands up and injured her.
All three practitioners were taken to the Mengyang Town Police Station. The police searched their backpacks and also used a knife to cut their shoes, the buttons on their clothes, waistbands and zippers. All Falun Gong informational materials they had with them were confiscated.
The police next ransacked the practitioners’ homes. Ms. Qing’s computer and over 40 Falun Gong books, and Ms. Fu’s over 40 Falun Gong books were taken away. During the raid, the police stepped on the practitioners’ Falun Gong books.
After coming back to the police station, the police interrogated the practitioners separately and didn’t allow them to talk to each other.
They put a black hood on Ms. Qing’s head and took her to the notorious Xinjin Brainwashing Center at around 6 p.m. on March 10. The other two practitioners were released at around 7 p.m.
Prior to her latest arrest, Ms. Qing was once given 10 years following an earlier arrest on October 23, 2009 when she was living in Guanghan City in the same province. The police revealed that they had been monitoring her daily for two months.
When Ms. Qing’s mother and sister sought her release, officer Yang Yongbin responded, “If you want to seek justice, you should talk to your lawyer and the court.”
Ms. Qing was later sentenced to ten years at Yangmahe Women’s Prison in Jianyang City.
