(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Guo Yiqian and Ms. Zhang Chunxia were arrested on September 3, 2019. They were held in the Wuqing District Detention Center. Both practitioners were sentenced to two years in prison by the Wuqing District Court in February 2021.
Ms. Guo’s family received a notice from the Tianjin Women’s Prison that she was taken there on March 10. The whereabouts of Ms. Zhang, who suffers from visual disabilities, are unknown.
Ms. Jin Yuhong was arrested and held in custody for nearly a year when she visited the child of a friend who was being persecuted. She was tried by the Taoshan District Court at the detention center on November 5, 2020. Her lawyer defended her innocence. It was learned on November 20 that Ms. Jin was sentenced to four years in prison. She has appealed.
Her lawyer received a call from the intermediate court that the original verdict was upheld.
Ms. Wan Hanxiu and Mr. Zhang Xueqin were arrested by officers from the Yugan County Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of March 17, 2021. They are being held in the local police department.
Since February 12, 2021, Mr. Duan Ronggui and Ms. Duan Guifen, from Beicang Town, Beichen District, have been harassed at home several times by people from the Beicang Town Police Station and the town Political and Legal Affairs Committee.
Ms. Duan and Mr. Liu Jie were harassed at work, and they also received prolonged threatening phone calls.
Wu Xuemei (gender unknown) from the West Coast New Area was taken to the Pudong Detention Center on February 23, 2021. Wu received paperwork from the procuratorate on March 17, but refused to sign it.
Wu was arrested on October 24, 2020. The police ransacked Wu’s home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, printed materials, and some keepsakes. On February 3, 2021, Wu was transferred to the Chengyang District and placed in custody after being held in the Liuwang Town Police Station for over three months.
On February 23, Wu was taken to the Pudong Detention Center, where Wu has since remained in custody.
Li Haibo (gender unknown) from the West Coast New Area was arrested at a rented home by officers from the Liuwang Town Police Station on October 24, 2020. Li is being held in the Huangdao Detention Center.
Ms. Zheng Yingying, 68, from Haizhu District, was arrested when she headed out of town and her national ID card was checked at the Jinshazhou Station, Baiyun District, on March 31, 2020.
She was sentenced to a two-year-and-six-month prison term and fined 5,000 yuan by the Liwan District Court on December 29. She appealed to the Guangzhou City Intermediate Court.
Mr. Zhang Qinghang, 75, from Baliqiu Village, Qianying Township, was arrested by officers from the Hemujing Township Police Station on the way home after taking his grandson to school on March 16, 2021. He was taken to the Xinji City Detention Center on March 17.
Mr. Zhu Qunqun was recently transferred from the Yancheng City Detention Center to the Dafeng City Detention Center.
Ms. Sun Xue was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong at the Beihai Farmers Market on March 17, 2021. She was arrested by officers from the Beihai Frontier Defense Police Station. She was taken to the Yingkou City Detention Center for 10 days of detention.
Ms. Wang Jing lives near the Xilin Police Station. On March 18, 2021, over 20 officers from the Tangyuan County Domestic Security Division and the Heli Town Police Station arrested her.
On the same day, officers from the Dongcheng Police Station, Tangyuan County, arrested Ms. Zhang Bingkun.
Jiao Renzhen (gender unknown), Ms. Shi Guiying, Ms. Liu Runlian, Ms.Wang Junqin, and another practitioner were reported to the police around 10 p.m. on March 11, 2021.
The police identified them through bus passes bearing their names and the surveillance video on the bus. They were arrested at their home by the Yingze District police. They were not released until after midnight that evening.
Mr. Guo Zhenfang and his wife Ms. Feng Yuhua from the Songshan District were arrested on the morning of November 25, 2020. Officers from the Songshan District Domestic Security Division ransacked their home. They are being held in the Songshan District Detention Center.
Their cases were turned over to the Songshan District Procuratorate.
Peng Xinnan (gender unknown) was arrested and taken to the Jinan City Detention Center by officers from the Qixianzhuang Police Station, Shizhong District, on March 2, 2021. Peng was detained for seven days.
Two police officers and Yang Jian from the Guangming Community harassed Ms. Nie Rongzhi’s daughter at work on the morning of March 15, 2021.
They persuaded and threatened Ms. Nie’s daughter, asking her to photograph her mother and get her mother to sign paperwork. They threatened that if her mother did not sign, it would adversely affect her and her husband’s work and their son’s schooling.
Ms. Fu Xiuqin, 67, from the No. 4 District, Jinding Street, Shijingshan District, was arrested by officers from the Sanjiadian Police Station in July 2020. She was released on bail for one year. During this period, the police officers repeatedly went to her home and harassed her without showing any ID cards or badges.
They forcibly took videos and photos of her, took notes when questioning her, and collected her fingerprints and blood samples. They also confiscated Falun Gong materials.
Mr. Yue Caiyun, about 54, from Yucheng County, passed away at the Hangzhou City No. 2 Prison in Zhejiang Province on February 24, 2021.
During his detention in the No. 6 Ward, Xiaoshan District Detention Center, he was force-fed with urine by the inmate who bullied others in the cell. He went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution, refused to wear the inmate uniform with logos, and was beaten by the inmates.
Each cell of the detention center is equipped with two high-definition cameras, yet guards and the Hangzhou City Supervision Division turned a blind eye to the abuse.
