(Minghui.org) Master said,
“Clarifying the truth is the master key. They win people over with money and incentives, which are all ordinary people's things, and they only last temporarily. Yet what you give them are things that have to do with their eternal existence, and the beings on Earth all exist for this event. Don't undervalue what you're doing. When you've really clarified the truth to the world's people in-depth, it will be different. If that still doesn't work, then it's a matter of people choosing their future.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference”, Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IV)
I gained more understanding of the above Fa-teaching through an incident that happened in September 2020, when a practitioner told me that she had seen contents that defamed Falun Gong and its founder in the enclosed bulletin boards at the local community square. I suggested that we send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate vicious elements behind the community staff and that we look within for loopholes in our cultivation status. Some of our local practitioners had been a little numb to the persecution, some had been suffering illness tribulations, and some had been attached to the end time for the Fa-rectification.
After a few days, I noticed the bulletin boards were still there. The boards were at a very high place and locked. In addition to surveillance cameras, there were many people lingering at the square during the day and there was group dancing in the evening. Another practitioner and I discussed the situation, and we decided to write to the community staff and explain what Falun Gong was. We knew they had been deceived by the hate propaganda from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and they were victims of the persecution as well. Especially during the latest zero-out campaign aimed to force every Falun Gong practitioner on the government's blacklist to renounce their faith, these communist staff members had been actively following orders to harass practitioners. Therefore, we must help them understand the truth so as to stop them from harming practitioners.
In my letter, I explained in a calm tone the importance of traditional values. Since ancient times, we Chinese people have believed in the principle that “good is rewarded with good and evil meets evil.” The CCP had destroyed traditional culture and instilled hatred in people since it took power in 1949. Many Chinese people have become victims of the CCP's political campaigns over the years, and now innocent Faun Gong practitioners are suffering from the CCP’s brutality and lies. I also talked about what Falun Gong is and urged the community staff replace the bulletin contents with something that can benefit the community.
Three days after the letter was mailed out, the practitioner who first told me about the bulletins came to say that the contents of the bulletin boards had been updated. Only those three bulletins with information that slandered Falun Gong were replaced. I think this shows the importance of our truth-clarification, compassion, and righteous thoughts.
Recently many practitioners in my region, as well as practitioners in other parts of the country, have been harassed by police and officials in the zero-out campaign. The perpetrators emphasized that the campaign was a nationwide and top-down initiative, and they were ordered to force every practitioner to sign statements to give up Falun Gong. If practitioners refused to yield, their children could be negatively affected.
Out of fear, some practitioners chose to live away from home for a while to avoid harassment. Some were more clear-minded and grabbed the opportunity to clarify the truth to people who came to harass them.
From this experience, I learned that we need to maintain strong righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil and that our righteous thoughts really work, no matter what kind of interference and persecution we encounter.
Above is my personal understanding, and please point out anything inappropriate.
