(Minghui.org) When reading the article “Slanderous Bulletin Board Contents Removed After Truth-Clarification,” I recalled two incidents that I had encountered in the past similar to what the author described. The author wrote letters to his local community staff and urged them to remove slanderous contents from bulletin boards, and they were removed soon afterwards.
I agree with the author that when people put up information that slanders Falun Dafa, it is because they had been deceived by the hate propaganda from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Once we help them understand the illegality of the CCP's persecution of Falun Dafa, people will usually stop smearing Falun Dafa.
Community Bulletin Boards
The first incident happened in a big city. Because of the suppression of Falun Dafa, I lost my job and moved to the big city. One day, I saw posters that slandered Falun Dafa in enclosed community bulletin boards. Still harboring fear of further persecution, my family members and I initially only submitted information about the posters to Minghui.org. The posters were in the locked bulletin boards and there were nearby surveillance cameras, so I did not know what to do. I did purchase some larger posters and used them to cover the bulletin boards, but my posters were soon removed.
As I read more Falun Dafa teachings, I realized that I had moved to the big city probably because of my predestined relationship with people there. So it is my mission to tell people what Falun Dafa is and why the persecution should not have happened in the first place. I realized that once people are clear about what had happened, they would know what to do. As a result, when such slanderous posters came out again, I would provide detailed information and contact information to Minghui, so that practitioners outside of China could help call the perpetrators who put up the posters. In the meantime, I would also send letters to responsible personnel telling them the facts.
I sent letters to some community staff members multiple times. Every time, they would remove the slanderous posters in a short time, and there were fewer and fewer such posters. Moreover, I also worked with my family to distribute materials in my region. We continued this for a long time until we left there a few years ago. By that time, we hardly saw any defamatory posters anymore. This is important because this city is a tourist destination. Every summer, there are tourists from all over China and nearly all family hotels in my community are packed.
Poster at a School
Another incident happened in early September last year. When walking past an elementary school, I saw a poster on the bulletin board that slandered Falun Dafa. It also had the image of Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa. I felt very bad because school had just started, and many students as well as parents could be poisoned this way.
After coming back home, I found the school principal’s email address and the school’s phone number, as well as some key officials’ contact information. Although it was not complete, I sent it to Minghui anyway. Then I wrote a letter to both the principal and the vice principal, explaining how badly such a poster could mislead the students and their parents.
When walking by there again several days later, I found the defamatory poster had been replaced by something else, while other posters remained the same. I was very grateful for Master’s compassion.
There were also other experiences of this kind and I will not list all of them here. Of course, some practitioners were very brave and they talked to people who put up such slanderous content face to face. There were also practitioners who only managed to get the slanderous contents removed, but without helping the perpetrators understand why such contents should never have been posted in the first place. I feel that we have to clarify the truth in our efforts to remove slanderous content. Only by helping people understand the truth are we truly saving sentient beings.
