(Minghui.org) May 13, 2021, was the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day and the 29th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction. Elected officials in ten cities and towns in New York issued proclamations, citations, and certificates to mark the occasion. They commended Falun Dafa and the universal values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that have benefited over 100 million people with improved health.

County Executive Steven Bellone of Suffolk County recognized May 13 as the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day in the county. The proclamation read, “The practice of Falun Dafa is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline that encourages people to be thoughtful of others at all times and to be good people overall. It consists of teachings, meditation, and four exercises that serve to improve the health and condition of one’s body.”
It also recognized how the practice has been shared locally: “Falun Dafa workshops have been given in senior centers, school, colleges, corporate offices, health clubs, private residences and libraries throughout Suffolk County.”

The proclamation reads, “The practitioners of Falun Dafa, have worked diligently and have contributed to the success and prosperity of all segments of our citizenry, and through the years, have demonstrated a selfless commitment to the community that warrants attention and gratitude.”
Proclamation from Mayor Gary R. McCarthy of the City of Schenectad
Mayor Gary R. McCarthy's proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa inspires spiritual and religious principles, transcends cultural boundaries and contributes to a healthier and more harmonious society.”
“Falun Dafa has touched the lives of local residents during this difficult time by offering exercise instruction and health information through free on-line workshops.”
Proclamation from Supervisor William W. Moehle of the Town of Brighton
The proclamation condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution: “Tens of millions of Falun Dafa practitioners in China became the subject of brutal persecution by the government, which continues to this day.”
“Despite this suppression, Falun Dafa is practiced around the world, spreading the healthful meditative practice across countries and cultures, helping many millions of people cultivate a spirit of caring and belief in human equality through truth, compassion and tolerance.”
The proclamation from Supervisor Edward R. Wehrheim of the Town of Smithtown also condemned the persecution.
