(Minghui.org) A Changchun City, Jilin Province resident passed away on June 16, 2019 while imprisoned for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. She was 65.
Ms. Xu Jing was arrested by police who were waiting outside of her apartment when she returned home on August 12, 2017. The police snatched her keys and ransacked her residence. Her three printers, a laptop, six cellphones and several Falun Gong books were confiscated. The police also videotaped and photographed her home.
Ms. Xu was taken to the Nanling Police Station for interrogation and then transferred to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center. She was sentenced to four years by the Chaoyang District Court in July 2018 and taken to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison in August.
Ms. Xu developed a severe medical condition in late May 2019 due to the torture in prison and was hospitalized. She died weeks later on June 16.
The authorities intimidated her family and didn’t allow them to reveal anything about her death.
In the past 22 years, Jilin Province has been one of the top regions in China with the most severe persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
