(Minghui.org) “It is precisely the three principles, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, that attracted us here. I see Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in everyone that is meditating here by the beach. This is what everyone is looking for, right? Especially since, after going through persecution and tribulations, we realize that this is what we truly need,” said a recent college biology graduate named Meria. She and her friend saw Falun Dafa practitioners peacefully meditating while strolling through Britannia Park in Ottawa on July 4, 2021.
With the pandemic becoming less severe, many parks and pedestrian streets are opening up to the public and Falun Dafa practitioners can be seen once again. Ms. Xin, the local Falun Dafa coordinator, said, “Even though the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners for 22 years, it still cannot shake the faith of a true cultivator. On the contrary, it has only made practitioners even more determined. More people, including many Canadians, have realized how precious Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is and how evil the CCP is. Many Canadians are starting to practice the exercises and also petitioning the Prime Minister and many Canadian leaders to end the persecution.”

Syrians: “I Sincerely Wish Falun Dafa Practitioners Well”
Meria and her friend are from Syria. Meria said, “Canada has given us the right to freedom and to express our thoughts. We are very grateful for that. Having freedom is very important. We sincerely wish Falun Dafa practitioners well...we truly wish that the persecution will end.”
Meria’s friend, Luna, said that Syria has always been at war, exclaiming, “We do not want to see anyone in the world suffer or be in danger. Our world has become very fragmented. I think it is time that we try to make the world a better place.”
Both of them called for an end to the persecution by signing a petition to the Prime Minister.
Architect: “It Is Genocide When You Deny People Their Freedom”
After signing the petition, Wilson Murillo, an architect, said that people should have the right to freedom and to express themselves. He believes that a government should not silence its people.
“People should have the right to freedom, speech, and many other things. Why should the government enforce certain rules and regulations and determine which path people should take? It is not fair to be persecuted if one does not agree with its rule. This is against humanity,” Wilson said.
Wilson Murillo, an architect in Ottawa, signed the petition and said that to take away one’s freedom is an act of genocide.
Mr. Murillo, who is from Venezuela, said many people from his homeland have also been persecuted. However, after coming to Canada, he found that communism and pro-CCP factors have infiltrated Canadian society. “We are in difficult times,” he commented.
He believes that the Canadian government is relying on China’s economy, so it is hard for the Canadian government to take certain actions against the CCP. He said he is not against China, he just wants to stop the CCP’s brutality. He knows that Falun Dafa practitioners abide by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and said that these are, “...principles that will help people enter a state of peace and look at everything with a calm mind.”
Charity Founder: “I Agree with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance One Hundred Percent”
Raju Agarwal is the founder of a charity that supports the education of Indian girls. He said, “It is devastating to see the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, Uyghurs, Buddhist followers, and Tibetans. I hope that the CCP can respect the different ethnicities and religions in China and give them freedom to believe in what they want to believe in.”
He said that he agrees with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance one hundred percent. “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great and I totally agree with it, especially with the principle of Compassion.”

Andrew Neiter, a health major at the University of Ottawa, said that the practitioners looked very peaceful while doing the exercises. He wants the Canadian government to lend a hand and help stop the persecution. He said, “Everyone should be free and we should not hold grudges or hatred.” He plans to learn more about the practice.
