(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Switzerland held an event in front of Palais Wilson, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, on July 15, 2021, five days before the 22nd anniversary of the onset of the persecution of this ancient spiritual and meditation practice in China.
Andrés Allemand Smaller, a reporter of Tribune de Genève, the largest regional daily newspaperreported on the event.

In the article titled “China Continues to Forcibly Remove Organs from Practitioners of Falun Gong,” it said that year after year, Falun Gong practitioners persisted in coming there, condemning the persecution that started on July 20, 1999.
May Bakhtiar, a Switzerland Falun Gong practitioner representative, told Smaller that it’s Jiang Zemin, the former chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, who decided to eradicate Falun Gong, which he thought became too popular in China, as the number of practitioners was estimated to be higher than the Communist Party members. Falun Gong was also practiced by some high-ranking government officials. Since then, the persecution has been ongoing. Millions of practitioners have been detained, tortured, brainwashed or persecuted to death. Many of them also became the victims of forced organ harvesting.
The report cited a statement by the United Nation on June 14, 2021, in which a dozen human rights experts expressed their extreme concern “of alleged ‘organ harvesting’ targeting minorities, including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims, and Christians, in detention in China.”
These detainees were “forcibly subjected to blood tests and organ examinations such as ultrasound and x-rays, without their informed consent,” and “the results of the examinations are reportedly registered in a database of living organ sources that facilitates organ allocation” said the UN statement.
According to the statement, “the most common organs removed from the prisoners are reportedly hearts, kidneys, livers, corneas and, less commonly, parts of livers.”
Smaller emphasized in his article that with the support of the communist regime administration, the Chinese hospitals have tens of thousands of organs to be used for transplants, but they couldn’t provide clear information of where these organs came from.
Bakhtiar told Smaller that she was glad to see the UN experts finally began to listen to them and pay attention to how Falun Gong practitioners have been targeted the worst in the horrific organ harvesting crime.
She is also encouraged to see the government officials in Switzerland to stand with Falun Gong and express their support. “More than 170 parliamentarians this year lent their support to Falun Gong and religious freedom. It warms my heart!”
