(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 28 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 68 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yue Sheguo Sentenced to Three Years and Three Months in Prison

Mr. Yue Sheguo was arrested on June 14, 2020, for distributing truth-clarifying materials. He was tried in the Congtai District Court on the morning of March 12, 2021, and was sentenced to three years and three months in prison. He was taken to the Tangshan Prison on June 18, 2021.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Cases Against Mr. Wang Xianqiu and Ms. Tian Huaying Submitted to Court

Mr. Wang Xianqiu, 49, from Jiangxia District was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials and was arrested by officers from the Longquan Police Station on January 30, 2021. He was detained in a detention house for two weeks and was transferred to the No.4 Detention Center of Wuhan City on February 14, 2021. His case was transferred from the Donghu Gaoxin District Procuratorate to the Hongshan District Procuratorate on May 9, 2021. The case was submitted to the Hongshan District Court on June 8, 2021. 

Ms. Tian Huaying was arrested at home around 6 a.m., July 15, 2020. Several plainclothes officers from the Dongxihu District Police Department and the Jiangjun Road Police Station in the Dongxihu Breeding Farm forced their way into her home and ransacked it. They confiscated her Dafa books, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, and other belongings. Ms. Tian was taken to the Jiangjun Road Police Station around 10 a.m. that day. She was bailed out around 2 p.m., the next day and was released on bail pending trial. Ms. Tian was informed on July 1, 2021, that her case was submitted to the court. 

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested 

Six practitioners and two non-practitioners from Laoshan District were arrested by officers from the Zhonghan Police Station and the Shazikou Police Station on June 25, 2021. The practitioners arrested are, Liu Chenjin, Shi Yueying, Wang Yong, Wang Yanni, Wang Guizhi, and Wang Meizhi. Two non-practitioners were released on the same day. Shi Yueying (gender unknown) was released the next day due to her health condition. 

4. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] 12 Practitioners Arrested

Twelve practitioners and one non-practitioner were arrested on June 11, 2021. They are Mr. Liu Jingrui, his wife Ms. Cao Yueping, Mr. Wang Zhongxue, his wife Ms. Wu Yanling, Zhang Kunshan, Liu Ruifen, Yu Shufen, Li Xiuchun, Li Jing, Tian Na, Liu Sulan, Zhou Yajuan, and Liu Ruifen's son (non-practitioner). 

Li Xiuchun and Liu Ruifen’s son were released that night. Tian Na was detained for 15 days and is now back home. Liu Ruifen was placed under official arrest. Mr. Wang Xuezhong is detained in Jianping County which is adjacent to Lingyuan City. 

According to eyewitnesses, Mr. Wang Zhongxue and his wife Cao Yueping were arrested at home. The police ransacked their home and confiscated many personal belongings including a printer, computer, books and papers. Their home was a huge mess and the door was left wide open with no one at home when the police took the couple away. 

5. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Huiqin and Ms. Sun Xiuyun Harassed

Three officers from the Shanhe Town Police Station went to Ms. Liu Huiqin’s home to harass her in late May 2021. 

Officers from the Shanhe Town Police Station went to the home of over-70-year-old Ms. Sun Xiuyun twice in June 2021. The second time, two officers wearing body cameras tried to enter the house. But Ms. Sun blocked them at the door. Ms. Sun told them she had a car accident and would have been dead if she did not practice Falun Gong. She advised them to be kind to practitioners. 

6. [Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Yuzhen Arrested 

Ms. Yang Yuzhen, 66, lives with her son in Yihai Xingcheng. She was arrested by police on May 30, 2021. Her home was ransacked. It was learned that she was followed for quite a while. 

7. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Chen Sulan and Chen Jiashun Harassed

Chen Sulan and Chen Jiashun (their genders are unknown) live in Guandian Township, Xi County. They were harassed at home by officers including Liu Chaoyang from the Guandian Township Police Station and were pressured to sign a guarantee statement. Chen Jiashun was taken to a brainwashing center in May 2021. 

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Kaili Detained

Mr. Lu Kaili is detained in the Yaojia Detention Center.

9. [Chongqing] 95-year-old He Zemin Harassed

He Zemin, 95, gender unknown, has been harassed at home several times by staff members from the Huixing Sub-district Office in Yubei District. He Zemin was intimated and pressured to sign a guarantee statement. 

10. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Lanfang Persecuted

Ms. Wang Lanfang was released on November 30, 2019, after being detained in prison for 11 years. Her household registration was canceled by officers from the Lujiawan Police Station in Tianzhen County when she was imprisoned. Ms. Wang, who currently lives in Yangquan City with her son, returned to her hometown with her son to renew her ID card and household registration. She was forced to take a blood sample and provide a hair sample and fingerprints. Han Jianli, deputy director of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Tianzhen County Judicial Bureau, threatened her and made her take a photo with him. 

11. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Huajing Arrested 

Ms. Wang Huajing was reported to police for distributing truth-clarifying materials. She was arrested by officers from the Guzhai Police Station on the afternoon of June 24, 2021. The truth-clarifying materials and about 1000 yuan in paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts were confiscated. She was taken to the police station. She did not cooperate with the police and was released around 12 a.m. that night. 

12. [Mulan County, Heilongjiang Province] Chu Zhanhua Arrested 

Chu Zhanhua (gender unknown) from Mulan County was arrested and is currently detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Harbin City.

13. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jingyou Harassed 

Mr. Zhang Jingyou was harassed at his workplace on the afternoon of April 2, 2021, by four plainclothes officers and Yin Xianqin, secretary of the Dayi Village Party Committee in Guizhouwan Town, Jiayu County. Mr. Zhang was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. 

Yin Xianqin led one officer to Mr. Zhang’s home on the afternoon of April 15, 2021, and asked Mr. Zhang for his phone number. Mr. Zhang refused to tell them. The next morning, four officers went to Mr. Zhang’s home to arrest him. Mr. Zhang was detained for 10 days in the Jiayu County Detention Center. Mr. Zhang’s home was ransacked. More than 80 books and copies of Minghui Weekly were confiscated. 

14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Huilin and Mr. Zuo Desheng Face Trial

Ms. Wang Huilin and Mr. Zuo Desheng were taken to the Huanggezhuang Town Police Station on the morning of July 2, 2021. The staff members from the Luannan Court talked to them and told them to sign a document of residential surveillance, which they refused. They were informed that they would be tried in court on July 20, 2021. 

15. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Quan Chunnu Arrested

Ms. Quan Chunnu was arrested on July 3, 2021, for distributing truth-clarifying booklets in the Xing’an Market. Her home was ransacked. 

16. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Zongping's Home Ransacked

Mr. Yu Zongping was summoned and his home was ransacked on June 30, 2021. His computer was confiscated. 

17. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Shuyuan Harassed

Ms. Xu Shuyuan works in Jidian High School in the Acheng District. She was harassed at her workplace and was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. 

18. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Lai Youfu and His Wife Ms. Zhang Fengying Harassed

Mr. Lai Youfu and his wife Ms. Zhang Fengying received multiple harassing calls from the Pipating Police Station in the Baishuihupian District around May 1, 2021. 

Zhou Gang, former head of the Pipating Police Station, and another officer went to the couple’s home on the morning of June 30, 2021. The couple was not home but their daughter opened the door. The officers entered and searched the place. They confiscated some personal belongings related to Falun Gong. 

19. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Chunyan Detained

Ms. Zhang Chunyan from Ci County is detained in the Handan Detention House. She will be detained for 15 days. 

20. [Tianjin] Mr. Luan Ruiqiang Arrested

Mr. Luan Ruiqiang was taken to the Hongqi Road Police Station on June 27, 2021. His hand was forcefully held to sign on a document. He was then taken to have a physical examination in Dagang District but the result showed he was in poor health. He was allowed to go home. 

Mr. Luan was taken to have a second physical exam the next day on the afternoon of June 28, 2021. The results were the same. He was released. 

21. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Nie Junhua Arrested

Officers from the Xingyang City Domestic Security Division and the Jingcheng Road Police Station went to Ms. Nie Junhua’s home around 4 p.m., June 27, 2021. They broke in while no one was at home and ransacked the place. Her computer and printer were confiscated. Ms. Nie was arrested when she returned that day and she was taken to the No.3 Detention Center of Zhengzhou City.

Her niece Xiao Li was arrested at the same time as her. Xiao Li was detained in the Sunsai Detention Center of Xingyang City. 

22. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Shulan Harassed

Ms. Geng's relative received a harassing call from the police station at the end of last year to request that Ms. Geng sign a guarantee statement. 

Two officers from the Yucai Street Police Station in Chang’an District went to Ms. Geng Shulan’s home at the end of May 2021. Ms. Geng was not at home. 

23. [Siping City, Jilin Province] 67-year-old Li Rui Arrested and Detained

Li Rui, 67, gender unknown, was arrested on the ground floor of the building where Li lives by officers from the Pingxi Township Police Station at around 6 p.m., June 17, 2021. Li’s home was ransacked. Many books and other personal belongings were confiscated. Li Rui is now detained in the Siping Detention Center. 

24. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jiang Xiaorong Arrested 

Twelve officers from the Gongnongcun Police Station in Jingyang District went to Ms. Jiang Xiaorong’s home around 7 p.m., June 21, 2021. They asked the source of the truth-clarifying materials. Later Ms. Jiang was arrested. Her home was ransacked. Her family was not allowed to visit her and does not know where she is detained. 

25. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] 10 Practitioners Harassed

Five practitioners from the Xiyin Village were harassed at home by village official Lu Chenglu and Wang Jianjun, and township official Guan Weifeng in April 2021. The practitioners are Mr. Wang Guoqiang, Li Yonglan (gender unknown), Ms. Wang Meiying, Gao Yushan (gender unknown), and Mr. Wang Guifa. Three of them including Mr. Wang Guoqiang, Li Yonglan, and Mr. Wang Guifa were harassed again by officers Chen Xiao and Li Yao from the Yincun Town Police Station on June 23, 2021. 

Five practitioners from the Dongyin Village were harassed by village official Bai Liqing and township official Guan Weifeng in April 2021. The practitioners are Zhang Baoyin (gender unknown), Mr. Zheng Jingzi, Ms. Zhang Xiying, Mr. Yan Xiaobai, and Xizhu (gender unknown). They were harassed again by village official Bai Liqing and Bai Lixiao, and two officers Chen Xiao and Li Yao on June 24, 2021. 

26. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Guolan Harassed

Ms. Zhang Guolan, 70, lives in the Shangying Residential Community, Miyun District. Twelve people from the district police department, the Chengguan Police Station, Gulou Sub-district Office broke into her home on the morning of June 30, 2021. Ms. Zhang was not at home. Her daughter-in-law was questioned whether Ms. Zhang still practiced Falun Gong. 

Two people from the local neighborhood community office went to her home that afternoon and asked Ms. Zhang the same question. Ms. Zhang did not answer. They claimed that she was constantly being watched. 

27. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Menghua Arrested

Ms. Gao Menghua was placed under official arrest by the Cao County Court and was arrested by four officers from the Caocheng Town Police Station on June 30, 2021. Ms. Gao’s mother is over 100 years old and in a hospital. Her husband in his 70s is disabled. Both of them rely on Ms. Gao’s care. 

Ms. Gao was taken to have a physical examination and was then sent to the Juancheng County Detention Center. She was found to have a heart problem and high blood pressure and was denied admission by the detention center. Ms. Gao refused to eat anything after she was arrested. She was released around 10 p.m. that evening. 

28. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhao Li Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhao Li from the Xigu District did not return home on May 22, 2021. The next day seven officers including the head of the Xigucheng Police Station went to her home. Ms. Zhao was taken the Xigucheng District Detention Center on May 23, 2021. She was released on May 30, 2021. 

29. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] 78-year-old Ms. Qi Fenglan Arrested 

Ms. Qi Fenglan, 78, from the Yuhong District was arrested by Yingbin Road Police Station officers at around 4 p.m., June 22, 2021. They used the key that they found in her bag and ransacked her home. She was taken to the Yingbin Road Police Station. 

Ms. Qi was taken to the Yuhong District Police Department the next day around 11 a.m. They tried to forcefully make her press her fingerprints on a document but failed. Ms. Qi returned home around 4 p.m. in the afternoon of June 23, 2021.

30. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Harassed or Arrested 

Mr. Zhang Yalin was reported to the police by guards in the Dushi Yangguang Residential Community and was arrested by officers from the Huoju Road Police Station on the afternoon of May 26, 2021. He was detained for 12 days. 

Two female practitioners were arrested around 9 p.m., June 6, 2021. Yao Baizhu, head of the Gaoxin Development District Domestic Security Division, ordered the arrest on the grounds that Falun Gong flyers were found in the corridors of the Dongfangjiayuan Residential Community. The two practitioners were detained in the Qingnandao Police Station for more than 40 hours. They were placed under 12-day detention. One of them was released on June 8, 2021, due to their poor health.

Ms. Zhang Xiaoying, around 40, was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Qingnandao Police Station around 10 a.m., June 21, 2021. She was detained 12 days in the Tangshan City Detention House. 

The officers went to the home of Mr. Li Guozhong and his wife Ms. Zhang Yuxiang around 7 a.m., May 12, 2021. The couple refused to open the door for them. The police called the couple’s son and daughter and told them to come. They finally got into the couple’s home. They videotaped the home and searched the garage. Some Dafa books were confiscated. Mr. Li and his wife, their daughter, and son, were taken to the police station that afternoon. The couple returned home around 10:30 p.m., that evening. 

31. [Chongqing] 76-year-old Ms. Ye Wenxiu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Ye Wenxiu, 76, from Zoumaer Village in the Banan District was arrested by Yudong Police Station officers on April 22, 2021, along with five other practitioners including Ms. Yang Xu, Ms. Zhu Zhonglan, and Ms. Zhu Meiying when they were reading Zhuan Falun together. Ms. Ye was released that same day. Two officers later arrested her at her home again. Ms. Ye is currently detained in the Chongqing City Women’s Prison. 

32. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Li Bin Persecuted 

Mr. Li Bin lives in Botou City, Hebei Province. He was arrested by officers from Anyang City in Henan Province on April 28, 2021, and his home was ransacked. Mr. Li has been detained in the Anyang City Detention Center since then.

Mr. Li’s wife received a call from the Wenfeng District Police Department in Anyang City on June 5, 2021, and learned that Mr. Li was placed under official arrest by the Wenfeng District Procuratorate. Mr. Li’s family was not allowed to visit him. 

Two officers from the Hedong Police Station in Botou City went to Mr. Li’s home to harass his wife on June 25, 2021. They videotaped his wife while asking if she still practiced Falun Gong.
