(Minghui.org) On the recent anniversary marking 22 years since the start of the persecution of Falun Gong in China, government officials and scholars from many countries have attended Falun Gong practitioners’ commemorative events or issued statements to support practitioners' calls to end the persecution. They unanimously agree that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has brought misery and damage to China through its persecution of Falun Gong.
It is also unanimously understood it is the CCP that harms China the most. Since Chinese people are victims of the CCP's brutality, they cannot be liberated until the CCP is disintegrated. Only then will China and the world have a better future.
Senator Marco Rubio, Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and former co-chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC), wrote a letter to support a Falun Gong event on July 16. In the letter, Senator Rubio stated, “Falun Gong’s teachings of compassion, tolerance, and truth make it a prime target by the oppressive Chinese Communist Party. We must continue to call out the regime’s ongoing abuses against its followers.”
“I will continue to advance policies in Congress that will hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable and work to bring about a better future for the Chinese people,” he continued. “On behalf of the people of Florida, I extend my best wishes to all in attendance today and I look forward to continuing to stand with the people of China in the years to come.”
The Rt Hon Sir Desmond Swayne TD MP of the U.K. sent a “message of support to Falun Gong and all Chinese people in their struggle for freedom of association, thought and belief.”
Australian Senator: Maintaining Pressure on the CCP
Australian Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells said that as more people in the world have “come to understand the skullduggery of the regime,” it is ever more important for Australians to maintain pressure on the CCP.
Such pressure includes Australia’s call for an independent inquiry into the origins of the pandemic. Facing the increased tariffs from the CCP as a threat, Senator Fierravanti-Wells said, “The Australian public will no longer tolerate business as usual with Beijing.”
Fierravanti-Wells said it is important to help those suppressed by the regime and to target the CCP on behalf of the Chinese people. “More and more Australians are more receptive to understanding the regime’s illegal activities, especially the human rights abuses. We need to remain strong and resolute in our condemnation of Beijing,” she said.
Former USCIRF Commissioner: The CCP Pushes Itself into a Dead End
Johnnie Moore, former commissioner for the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) and a Christian leader, said the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong not only leads China into chaos and difficulty, but also only pushes itself into a dead end.
The world was silent when the regime began to suppress Falun Gong in July 1999. Had we paid attention to it back then, Mr. Moore said, the situation would have been different and many people could have been saved. In any case, we should have a common goal on ending the persecution of Falun Gong, he continued. It goes beyond any ethnic groups or political parties, and should be a focal point for all of us.
Former Swiss Parliament Member: Not Being Manipulated by Human Rights Perpetrators
Luc Recordon, former Federal Member of the Swiss Parliament, said recently that the suppression of Falun Gong is “the most shocking and systematic act against human rights.”
“Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance happens to fit with my goal of perfecting myself,” he said, while adding, “Try not to let yourself be manipulated by this autocratic government that tramples basic human rights.”
Australian Parliament Member: “We Must Stand With Those Who Want Freedom”
Bernie Finn, another Australian Parliament member, said that it is a great achievement for Falun Gong practitioners to continue with their faith after 22 years of harsh persecution by the CCP.
As a free nation, Australia and Australians “have an obligation” to support those in China suffering under a murderous, barbaric regime. “We must stand with those who want freedom,” he stated.
Because of its continued violations of human rights, the CCP will be abandoned by the world while Chinese people will regain their freedom.
Calgary, Canada: I want to Continue Doing This with You
During a Falun Gong rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in Calgary, Canada on July 19, local resident David Thompson decided to join the practitioners and took part by holding banners throughout the event.
Speaking of the ongoing suppression in China, he said, “The CCP is a demon. It enslaves its own people. It should be completely abandoned. What practitioners are doing today is to accelerate the demise of the CCP.”
“I love China and the Chinese people, but I hate the CCP,” Mr. Thompson added. When a practitioner asked him to take a break from holding the banners, he said, “No, I want to continue doing this with you. As long as you can stand, I will.”
When practitioners held a similar event in Ottawa the next day, Julia Pica, who works for the government, also showed her support. She said the Chinese people are great, while the CCP is not. She urged more action from the Canadian government to stop the persecution, since the CCP suppresses everyone who follows his or her belief.
Writer: Standing Against the Tyranny
Trevor Loudon, who is currently living in the U.S., is an author, filmmaker, and public speaker from New Zealand. He sent a letter expressing his support for an event held by Falun Gong practitioners. In his letter, he wrote that Falun Dafa practitioners, Christians, the Uyghurs, and all other freedom-loving Chinese have been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party for years. Now, the CCP tries to spread its insidious influence to every corner of the world, including New Zealand.
He asked everyone in New Zealand who loves freedom, regardless of their background, to take every opportunity to resist the CCP. Everyone should stand with the millions of persecuted people in China against the CCP’s slavery, forced organ harvesting, torture, rape, and killing.
Mr. Loudon said that we are at the moment in history when all must choose to take a stand. “Will you cower in the face of the CCP’s threats and sell out your future to it? Or will you stand up with all your courage to fight the evil Chinese Communist Party?” he wrote. “When future generations read about this moment in history, they will see those who fought for freedom and those who cowered in the face of tyranny and barbarism. So on which side do you want your name to list?”
Spectators: Communism Is Evil
When practitioners held a peaceful rally in San Diego, California on July 17, passerby Michael Macturk, who is a company department head, said, “I fully agree with the message here. Communism is evil. It is an evil force in our world. More people should oppose it. More countries should oppose it so the Chinese people can have hope.”
During an event in Germany, engineer Axel said the same. “I hope China will break away from the totalitarian regime of the CCP soon,” he said. “China has a great history and Chinese people will have a better life without the CCP’s dictatorship.”
Taiwan Officials: Communism Will End As Soon As People Awaken
Taiwan legislative member Cheng Yun-peng said the CCP had been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and extended the brutality elsewhere. “The regime is too rotten to change and its harsh suppression of innocent citizens is ruthless. It is time to wake up,” he stated.
Another legislator, Chen Su-Yueh agreed. She said that everyone should condemn such atrocities, and history has shown that the righteous will prevail. She said when more people awaken, the vicious regime will end.
Lee Change, legislative member from Changchua, thanked Falun Gong practitioners for their continued efforts over the past 22 years. He said that their efforts to raise awareness of and end the persecution have helped the world to recognize the CCP’s nature of falsehood, wickedness, and struggle. That is why many Chinese people have quit the CCP and its junior organizations. He said that such a ruthlessness regime that mistreats people, even to the extent of forced organ harvesting, does not have a place in the future.
