(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Nie Xiuyun and Ms. Wang Shuying from Weifang were reported to police when they talked to people about Falun Gong in December 2020. Officers from the Beiguan Police Station in the Weicheng District arrested them and then released them the same day. About 10 days later, officers from the Beiguan Police Station detained Ms. Nie and Ms. Wang again and took them to the Changyi Detention Center. They failed the physical examination and were released on bail.
In early August 2021, the Beiguan Police Station notified Ms. Nie and Ms. Wang that the cases against them were transferred to the Weicheng Procuratorate. It was recently learned that the cases related to Falun Gong in Weicheng Procuratorate will be transferred to the Kuiwen Procuratorate.
Ms. Fan Weiju from Rizhao went out to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong on August 9, 2021. She rode on the back of her husband’s electric tricycle. She was reported to the police and taken to the Ganghang Police Station.
Sun Jiande, vice Party secretary of Yujialiang Village, called Ms. Yang Ailin’s husband on August 5, 2021, and demanded that his wife go to the village office and sign a statement denouncing Falun Gong. They threatened to go to their home if she did not go to the office.
Ms. Yang is in her 50s. Her husband takes Chinese medicine to help alleviate the inadequate blood flow to his heart and brain. Pressured by the phone call, her husband kept cursing at home. To calm the situation, their daughter went to sign the document on behalf of her mother.
Officers from the Dalianhe Township Police Station called Ms. Sun Rui’s family members on August 6 and 9, 2021. They insisted Ms. Sun come to the police station and write the three statements denouncing Falun Gong. The family refused to cooperate.
Mr. Li Guangqing, 66, from the Qiunie Production Brigade in Yunmeng County was arrested while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the evening of July 30, 2021. Three officers dressed in black intercepted him. They snatched his bag, forced him into a police vehicle, and took him to the Shuilu Police Station. They took a photo of the informational materials in his bag and tried to force him to sign paperwork. Officers tried to coerce Mr. Li into telling them where he got the materials, but he refused.
Traveling in two vehicles, officers from the Shuilu Police Station and the Tiexi Police Station went to Mr. Li’s home around 10 p.m. that night and ransacked it. They made a huge mess and confiscated his Falun Gong books, informational materials, a disc player, discs, a player, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, two photocopy machines, A4 paper and printer cartridges.
They did not take Mr. Li back to station that night under the guarantee of Party secretary of Qiunie Production Brigade. A few days later, Mr. Li went to the Shuilu Police Station to ask that his confiscated items be returned, but the officers refused.
Mr. Li was again arrested at his home on August 5th by Lu Hongzhou, head of the Yunmeng Domestic Security Division, and officers from the Shuilu Police Station and the Tiexi Police Station. He is being held in the Xiaogan Detention Center in Hubei Province.
Sang Shifeng, the 610 Office head in the Chiping Police Department, barged into Ms. Li Jilan’s home on August 5, 2021, along with 6 other agents from the 610 Office, the township government and the village Party secretary. Sang demanded that Ms Li sign a statement and threatened to punish her if she refused. He also asked Ms. Li whether she had taken the COVID-19 vaccination.
Sang frequently harassed practitioners during July. He harassed at least 7 practitioners or their family members. He barged into practitioners’ homes and demanded they sign paperwork and be photographed. The practitioners firmly refused to cooperate.
Ms. Wang Yanming and her young brother Mr. Wang Baojun from Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province were doing odd jobs in Beijing. They were arrested by officers from a police station in the Chaoyang District for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on June 11, the day before the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Two months have now passed and they still have not returned home.
Officer Sun Changqing from the Chengzhenxiguan Village Committee in Yu county and three officers from the Chengzhenbeiqu Police Station went to Ms. Gao Jinrong’s home and tried to record video of her. Then they went to Ms. Han Baohuan’s home to record her. They demanded to know whether she still practiced Falun Gong.
Agents, including an officer from the Chengzhenbeiqu Police Station, asked Ms. Yang Xiu’e and Ms. Jin Yuerong whether they still practiced Falun Gong. They also went to Ms. Guo Baocui’s home and asked her whether she still practiced Falun Gong.
It was recently learned that Ms. Zhang Fengzhen is being held in the Kuandian Detention Center.
