(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Chen Yinru was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Dafeng District Court in February 2023.
Ms. Zhang Fengqin, over 70, was arrested at her daughter’s home by more than 20 officers in the Horqin District at 7 a.m. on February 23, 2023. The police ransacked her daughter’s home as well as her home. They confiscated three printers, a laptop, and her Falun Gong books. Her daughter was also taken away but was released that evening. Ms. Zhang was sent to a detention center. Her family members are not allowed to visit her and have been harassed constantly by police.
Mr. Liang Xuesen from Yuhong District, 70, was followed and arrested by officers from the Jihong Police Station in Tiexi District when he mailed information about Falun Gong on February 27, 2023. His home was ransacked. The police confiscated his computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. Mr. Liang was sent to the Tiexi Detention House.
Mr. Yang Tingxian was sentenced to eighteen months in prison on February 10, 2023.
Ms. Wang Min was arrested by officers from the Changjiulu Police Station on February 13, 2023. She was detained for seven days in the Jiutai Detention House and then was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center. She was placed under official arrest on March 1, 2023.
Ms. Li Guifeng, over 60, was recently harassed at home by officers from the Chengzhong Police Station. Several officers went to her home in the Xiaogan District at 10 p.m. on March 2, 2023, arrested her, and took her away.
Mr. Zhang Chaoqun was arrested in Nanchong City on February 13, 2023. His home in Fancheng District, Xiangyang City, was ransacked by officers from the Qilihe Police Station and the Fancheng District Police Department. Several Falun Gong books were confiscated. Mr. Zhang was detained for 18 days. He has returned home.
Ms. Yin Shuxian was arrested by officers from the Lutou Police Station in a market on the morning of March 1, 2023. The officers forcefully searched her and found truth-clarifying materials in her bag. She was released later that day.
Ms. Xiao Qiuwen and Ms. Xiao Fangmei were arrested by three officers from the Anyuan District Police Department at 9 a.m. on February 27, 2023. They were taken to the Dongdajie Police Station for interrogation. The Pingxiang City Detention Center refused to admit them, and they were released the following evening.
Mr. Chen Haigang from Pudong District was arrested at home by officers from the Huinan Town Police Station in Pudong District. He is currently detained in the Nanhui Detention House.
Ms. Ma Kuihua lost contact for a week. It was confirmed on March 4, 2023, that she was arrested and detained.
Ms. Pan Hongming from Erdaojiang District was tried in the Liuhe County Court on the afternoon of February 10, 2023. Her family hired a lawyer for her but the lawyer quit the case after being threatened. The judge denied Ms. Pan and her son their right to defend her innocence during the trial.
Mr. Yue Chunguang from Erdaojiang District was tried in the Liuhe Court on the afternoon of February 13, 2023. His family was not told about the trial, so no family members attended the hearing.
Five practitioners were arrested in Guiyang City on February 16, 2023. They are, Mr. Chen Jinghua, about 60, Mr. Li Binyang, 30, Ms. Song Xiaomei, 53, Ms. Liu, and Mr. Li. Mr. Li was detained for 48 hours before he was released. The other four practitioners are held in the Sanjiang Detention Center.
Ms. Lu Xiuqin, over 80, was arrested at home by officers in Nanming District on September 4, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She was released the next day.
Ms. Yu Jingbo was arrested at home at 9 p.m. on February 28, 2023. Her home was ransacked.
