(Minghui.org) A Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province resident was taken to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison on November 11, 2022 to serve time for practicing Falun Gong.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Wang Rongyuan was arrested on February 6, 2022 while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The police broke her arm while dragging her to the police station. Her home was ransacked two days later, and her Falun Gong materials, computer, printer, and a DVD burner were confiscated.

Ms. Wang was first held at the Liaoyuan City Lockup for 15 days, then transferred to the Liaoyuan City Detention Center. The Minghui.org website recently confirmed that she was sentenced to three years and nine months of prison time. Her family was kept in the dark about her sentencing.

According to available data collected by Minghui.org, 338 Falun Gong practitioners in Jilin Province were arrested, and 384 were harassed in 2022. There were another 40 Jilin practitioners sentenced to prison, and four practitioners passed away resulting from the persecution.
