(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Liu Quanwang from Nanpiao District, as well as Ms. Cui Bing and Zhang Aimin, were arrested by officers from the Jitun Police Station in Nanpiao District on August 19, 2022. Mr. Liu was sentenced to five years in prison by the Lianshan District Court in late December 2022. Ms. Cui Bing and Zhang Aimin were each sentenced to two years in prison. Mr. Liu appealed but the original verdict was upheld by the Huludao City Intermediate Court in 2023.
2. [Emeishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liang Shufang Detained
Ms. Liang Shufang was arrested by officers from the Shuishan Town Police Station on February 25, 2020 for posting information about Falun Gong on February 10, 2020. She was released on bail for one year, pending trial. Her case was submitted to the Procuratorate in February 2021 and then to the court in December 2021. She was tried in court on March 10, 2022 and sentenced to ten months in prison. She was taken to the Leshan City Detention Center later that day.
3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Miao Xiaoqing Arrested
Ms. Miao Xiaoqing from the Yuhong District was arrested at home at 7 a.m. on March 15, 2023. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated.
4. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Qiu Yuanwen Arrested
Ms. Qiu Yuanwen, 69, lives at No. 7 Branch, Hongguang Farm in Qianguo County. She was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police went to her home and ransacked it on the afternoon of March 15, 2023. They confiscated a paper currency bill imprinted with Falun Gong facts, a portable radio, and several old tapes. Ms. Qiu is currently being detained in the Zhenjiao Police Station, Qianguo County.
5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hu Cuixiang Arrested
Ms. Hu Cuixiang was arrested at home in the Xiaodian East Village by officers from the Hetoudian Town Police Station on the morning of March 6, 2023. She was placed under 15-day detention and was sent to the Laixi City Detention House.
6. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Hongliang Arrested
Mr. Zhou Hongliang was taken by four plainclothes officers from his workplace to his home on March 10, 2023. The police ransacked his home. He was then taken to the Xicheng Police Station. Mr. Zhou is now incarcerated in a detention center.
7. [Qing’an County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yu Jingbo Arrested and Detained
Mr. Yu Jingbo was arrested at his home by a group people from the Yuejin Police Station, Qinghe Community, and Qing’an County Police Department at 9 p.m. on February 28, 2023. His home was ransacked, and his Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. Mr. Yu was fined 5000 yuan and taken to a detention center. He was released on the afternoon of March 10, 2023.
8. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Tian Haiying Arrested
Ms. Tian Haiying from Chaisang District was arrested by officers from the Xunyang District Police Department on the evening of March 15, 2023. She was arrested near her younger sister’s home where she was helping to take care of her sister’s child.
9. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Hong Detained
Mr. Gao Hong from the Shandong Qilu Petrochemical Co., Ltd, was arrested downstairs in the building where he lives, on the morning of March 14, 2023. He is being held in the Zhangdian Detention Center.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Guiqing Detained in a Brainwashing Center
Ms. Ma Guiqing has been detained in a brainwashing center for two weeks. She was told that she would be detained there for a month.
11. [Beijing] Ms. Yu Zhixin Arrested
Ms. Yu Zhixin from the Xicheng District was arrested by officers from the Baizhifang Police Station on February 27, 2023. She is currently being held in the Xicheng District Detention Center.
12. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Tang Bingsheng’s Home Ransacked
Mr. Tang Bingsheng, 67, lives in Duiji Village, Buyunqiao Town, Qidong County. Officers from the Buyunqiao Town Police Station ransacked his home on March 14, 2023, and confiscated his computer and printer. His whereabouts are unknown.
13. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Huang Kangli Arrested and Detained
Ms. Huang Kangli from Tongzi County was arrested at home on March 1, 2023. She was released on March 12, 2023.
14. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xu Zhen and Her Husband Arrested and Detained
Ms. Xu Zhen and her husband were followed to their home when they were distributing information about Falun Gong in the Luojia Market on March 12, 2023. They were arrested and taken to the Jingdong Police Station in the Qingshanhu District. Their home and mother-in-law’s home were ransacked. The police confiscated many Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a laptop computer, two printers, etc. from her home, and a desktop computer from her mother-in-law’s home. Ms. Xu is currently being held in the No. 1 Detention Center of Nanchang City. Her husband is detained in the Nanchang Detention House.
15. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Deyu Arrested
Ms. Hu Deyu and her husband were taken from their home in Wan’an Town to the Li County Police Department by officers from the Wan’an Town Police Station on March 2, 2023. Her husband was allowed to leave, but Ms. Hu was put in custody.
