1. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gu Yanhua Is Severely Beaten For Distributing Truth Clarification Materials
Ms. Gu Yanhua, 52 years old, is an employee of the Liaohe Oil Field Power Plant, Panjin City. On May 19, 2003, security guards of the Well Testing Company, Liaohe Oil Field arrested her while she and another Dafa practitioner were distributing truth clarification materials (1). Ms. Gu was sent to the Liaohe Public Security Bureau.
Since Gu did not cooperate with the persecution attempts made against her, a police officer in his forties beat her on the legs with an electric batons and struck her with a screwdriver. Gu was left with injuries all over her body, and she was covered in blood. The mop was stained red by the blood from the floor. Her legs were swollen, she had unbearable chest pain; she could not eat and suffered a sustained high fever. Later she was sent to the Liaohe Detention Center. A policewoman there threatened the regular inmates to keep them from revealing the facts of her situation. On August 19, 2003, Gu was sentenced to three years in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
2. [Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioners Detained at the Jilin Women's Jail Hold Group Protests Against the Persecution
Recently, a group of female Dafa practitioners received Teacher's new articles after overcoming many difficulties. Police officers discovered the practitioners reading and circulating them. Many practitioners who read and circulated Teacher's articles were detained in confinement rooms and tortured. Most practitioners in the jail started hunger strikes, shout out the facts about the persecution, or created banners to protest the violation of their basic rights by the police officers.
3. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Several Material Production Sites Are Damaged by Police Officers
During the time between mid-April to the end of May, police officers at Xingtai City have arrested over 40 Dafa practitioners. Some of them are detained in brainwashing centers, and some at the First Detention Center. Each of them had 2000 to 10,000 yuan (2) extorted from them. Dafa practitioners Ms. Mao Yuqin and Mr. Hao Huaimin were sent to forced labor camps. Among the arrested, included the following 9 practitioners: Mr. Zhang Baozhong and Ms. Yang Qinghua (a couple), Ms. Huo Guilan, Ms. Wang Jizhu, Mr. Feng Wenping, Mr. Xia Yunsheng, Mr. Dou Minxu, Mr. Zhang Zhihong, Ms. Ren Haixiang. Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Baoan was beaten so severely he suffered multiple broken bones, and is now recovering at home. Police officers also destroyed an Internet access site and four other material production sites (3). Recently, police officers at Xingtai City also arrested Dafa practitioners from Shijiazhuang City, Baoding City and Handan City and brought them to Xingtai City to persecute them.
4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Police Arrest Dafa Practitioner Ms. Ju Xiuzheng
Ju Xiuzheng is a resident of the Group 3, Fifth Brigade, Caichang Township, Dayi County. On June 11, 2004, police officers from Dayi County arrested her at her home. They searched Ju's home, and took away Dafa materials and books. She is now being held at the Dayi Public Security Detention Center. The police do not allow her family to visit her.
5. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Guifen Is Arrested for Clarifying the Facts of the Persecution
Ms. Wang Guifen, in her forties, is a Dafa practitioner from Suizhong County, Huludao City. On July 19, 2004, police officers arrested her and searched her home. She is now being held at the Suizhong County Detention Center. After July 20, 1999, she was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp once, and has been arrested, and detained many times.

6. [Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioners in Daqing Jail Go on Hunger Strike
To further resist the persecution, Dafa practitioners who were transferred to Daqing Jail from Harbin Jail went on a hunger strike for about ten days.
7. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Kang Yunling Is Force-fed
Mr. Kang Yunling is a Dafa practitioner from Liaoyuan City. On the afternoon of July 5, 2004, he was arrested in Dongfeng County, Liaoyuan City. He started a hunger strike on July 7 to protest and has become very weak after two weeks. He is now being force-fed by 5 to 6 police officers every day.
8. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Police Officers Hire Helpers to Brainwash Large Groups of Practitioners
On May 13, 2004, to honor Teacher Li's birthday, Dafa practitioners in the Meihekou City hung banners in high locations downtown, which were very eye catching. Police could not reach the banners even with a crane. After the event, the police started arresting Dafa practitioners and opened brainwashing programs. Each program holds 50 people. Later they could not find enough people to conduct the brainwashing, so they hired additional people at 10 yuan (1) a day to conduct the brainwashing programs for so many practitioners.
9. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Dafa Practitioner Li Hui Is Sent to a Forced Labor Camp for a One-Year Term
Around July 7, 2004, Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Hui from Yunmeng County was arrested. She was detained at Xiaogan City for 6 days, then two days at the Yunmeng County Detention Center, and then she was sentenced to one year at the Shayang Forced Labor Camp. Before that, Mr. Ding Xingjiao and Ms. Zeng Cuihua gave into the interrogation at the Hubai Brainwashing Center, which led to the arrest of Li Hui's brother, Li Xiaoming and others. Mr. Li Xiaoming was sent to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp. Headed by officer Liu Yuming, Yunmeng County has specifically targeted Li Ming for persecution, which has ruined the peaceful life of his family.
10. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] A New Material Production Site at Xiaogan City Is Damaged
Around July 15, 2004, a new Dafa material site at Xiaogan City was destroyed. It's known that three Dafa practitioners have been arrested. More details will be reported as they become available.
11. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Haixian Is Arrested
Ms. Wang Haixian is from the Jinzhou City Heavy Machinery Factory. On the afternoon of July 20, 2004, police officers from the Nuerhe Police Station, Taihe District, arrested her, searched her home, and took away her Dafa books. Now Ms. Wang is being held at the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

12. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Dafa Practitioner Xiong Is Arrested While Delivering Truth clarification Materials
Mr. Xiong is a driver for the Education Bureau of Yiyang City. On May 24, 2004, he was arrested while delivering truth clarification materials. He is now being detained.
13. [Gucheng City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Liu Zenglin Is Forced to Leave Home to Avoid Police Persecution
On June 28, 2004, Shao Li, the chief of the Political and Security Section of Gucheng Public Security Bureau, together with police officers Zhai Hongjun, and Cheng Haiying searched Liu Zenglin's home in Yuxiaozi Village, Qinghan Township. They took away Liu's Dafa books, materials, about 200 banners with Dafa content, and about 2000 yuan of his survival money. Since Liu was not at home, he was not arrested.
He has now been forced to leave home. But the Public Security Bureau is still trying to coerce his family to tell his whereabouts in order to get information about other Dafa practitioners from him.
