(Clearwisdom.net) Huang Huahua, the governor of Guangdong Province, China will lead a delegation to visit Taiwan on August 16, 2010. As Guangdong is one of the provinces that has been brutally persecuting Falun Gong, the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association pointed out that legal actions will be taken.
Practitioners Narrate Suffering in Guangdong Due to the Persecution
Ms. Cheng Xi, who is married to a Taiwanese, was imprisoned for near four years in the No. 1 Detention Center in Nanshan, Shenzhen, and the Guangzhou Women's Prison, because she distributed Falun Gong information CDs at Shenzhen University in January 2002. She was tortured and subjected to brainwashing. She was imprisoned with more than ten inmates who were incarcerated for crimes including taking drugs, murder, and robbery. Two inmates were ordered to closely monitor her, even when she used the restroom. One prison employee was solely in charge of brainwashing her, and forced her to watch video programs slandering Falun Gong repeatedly every day. She was forced to write experiences and share understanding. She was also interrogated, and forced to recite prison rules frequently. She said, "My thinking was tightly controlled." She suffered immense pressure and her hair turned gray not long after being imprisoned.
Ms. Cheng's family members were intimidated. Her husband was threatened not to expose the imprisonment of Ms. Cheng, or her term of imprisonment would be extended. Her brothers and sisters were also intimidated and threatened to cooperate in forcing Ms. Cheng to renounce her belief, or their futures would be adversely affected.
Ms. Cheng Shihong, who married in Taiwan, was imprisoned for nearly two years in the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp in Fushan, Guangdong because she explained the facts about Falun Gong when she returned home from visiting her relatives in October 2002.
During her imprisonment, Ms. Cheng was brutally beaten for explaining the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution to prison guards. She saw prison guards beat other Falun Gong practitioners. Under the instigation of the guards, other inmates, who were ordered to monitor practitioners, routinely beat and abused the practitioners. Many practitioners who were tortured were not seen again. She saw an elder practitioner in her sixties, who was being held in an iron cage which was so small that she could not stand up, for not renouncing Falun Gong. Prison guards deprived her of sleep, shocked her with electric batons, and did not allow her to use the toilet.
Ms. Cheng said, "Inmates in labor camps are treated as slaves. They are forced to work day and night to produce Christmas lights, plastic flowers, woven bags, etc. If they don't do well, they will be hung by their handcuffed wrists and beaten. When I was imprisoned, more than 50 inmates were held in one room of a little over ten square meters (about 100 square feet). Due to space limitation, each person had to lie down side by side to sleep. It was often impossible to find a place to lie down after coming back from the restroom."
Huang Huahua is the Primary Perpetrator in the Persecution of Falun Gong in Guangdong
Based on information from The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), the 610 Office was set up at each level of government in Guangzhou when Huang was mayor of the city. Under the direction of 610 Office, Guangzhou city police and other departments persecuted Falun Gong practitioners using detention, imprisonment in labor camps, forced brainwashing, and torture, which led to the deaths of more than ten Falun Gong practitioners in Guangzhou, including Gao Xiangmin, Hao Runjuan, and Luo Zhixiang.
Since Huang was appointed Governor of Guangdong Province in 2003, he has instigated hatred towards Falun Gong and directed the persecution of Falun Gong according to government reports in February 2004 and January 2005, and the persecution in Guangdong has escalated. By July 2010, the deaths of 75 practitioners due to torture were documented in Guangdong Province and 2430 cases of persecution were reported.
WOIPFG Initiates Full-scale Investigation--Warns Persecutors to Stop
WOIPFG has initiated a global monitoring and tracking system, and is investigating cases of persecution of Falun Gong daily to ensure that legal action will be taken against those responsible.
Regarding Huang's upcoming visit to Taiwan, Director Chang Ching-his of Taiwan's Falun Dafa Association said, "The persecution of Falun Gong in Guangdong Province is severe. When he comes, we must take legal action. Huang must be held responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong in Guangdong."
Mr. Chiu Huang-chuan, an attorney and assistant director of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (COIPFG), called on the Taiwan government to take action when the perpetrators in the persecution of Falun Gong come to Taiwan, and not to ignore their crimes. Mr. Chiu said, "The perpetrators are villains. Taiwan should not invite them to visit. We call on the Taiwan government officials: The perpetrators have blood on their hands. How can you shake hands with them? How can you ignore their crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong and infringement of human rights in China?"
Huang was named in criminal charges of torture in October 2005 in Canada and in charges of torture, crimes against humanity, and genocide in the USA.
