(Clearwisdom.net) Nothing can stop people with predestined relationships from practicing Falun Dafa, including the brutal persecution in China. The following is a mother's sharing about how her daughter's health and outlook on life improved after practicing Falun Gong.
Daughter Diagnosed with Lymphatic Cancer
Before I practiced Falun Gong, I brought my daughter, Shuqi, to a fortune teller. She was about four and a half years old at that time. The fortune teller told me that my daughter would be plagued with illnesses her entire life. I was also told that when she turned thirteen, she would suffer a major illness; when she was fifteen, she would be involved in a car accident; and when she was nineteen, she would encounter a huge disaster.
But I was also told that if she was massaged on a regular basis, she would be okay. However, my husband refused to have a man massage her. He believed that when Shuqi grew up, she would naturally regain her health.
Since Shuqi suffered chronic nose bleeds, it affected her studies at school. She was originally assigned as class monitor and then she was “demoted” to team leader, then to just a regular student. In grade four and five, she had severe nose bleeds, so she was often late for school. She became weaker by the day. Sometimes, when her nose became plugged up, blood ran out of eyes, ears, and mouth. When she lost a great deal of blood, she was forced to swallow it.
Every time I saw the basin full of blood and my daughter suffering so badly, I felt heart broken. I, along with numerous doctors, felt helpless, as we couldn't figure out the root cause of her problem. I knew she was too old for us to start massaging her body, as the fortune teller suggested we do. As a parent, I really felt her pain. Shuqi's health steadily deteriorated.
She usually felt faint in physical education class and she could not perform the exercises as the other students did. After school, she was too weak to walk home, even though our home was no more than two to three hundred yards from school. I would sometimes have to carry her home after seeing her resting against a wall.
When she was thirteen—just as the fortune teller had predicted—she suffered a major illness. After taking her to a hospital to have her nose bleeding problem attended to, the doctors informed us that she had a severe case of lymphatic cancer. What terrible news! Not only were the doctors unable to cure her chronic nose bleeding, but now she had a new illness. Even though she was in the hospital for quite a long time, she felt worse after being released.
After Practicing Falun Gong, Her Illnesses Vanished
I remember it very clearly. It was in September 1997. I received all of the Falun Gong books from my friend. I told my daughter about my experience with Falun Gong, saying that it is based on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I suggested that she listen to Teacher's lectures. Before she finish listening to the whole lecture series, she said: “Mom, I really want to cultivate. I feel so happy when I look at Teacher's picture. I never had such a feeling. I finally feel a sense of hope!”
Since I practiced Falun Gong, my lumbar shoulder disc, hyperosteogeny (excessive bone development), angiosclerosis (hardening and thickening of the walls of blood vessels), and other illnesses, all vanished. Shuqi underwent a thorough change. It was as if she became a different person. Not only did her nose bleeding stop, but she became healthy and energetic.
As Teacher's said:
“Haven’t I said that with one person practicing, the whole family benefits?” (“Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference in Australia,” 1999)
My mom is around eighty years old. After practicing Falun Gong, her heart disease, stomach problem, headaches, and lumbocrural pain are all gone. My son's frequent fevers, acalcerosis (chronic calcium deficiency) and general body weakness are all gone. Teacher saved Shuqi and my entire family.
My Daughter's Joy and Willingness to Help Others
Shuqi underwent huge changes after practicing Falun Gong. After experiencing Dafa's power, she truly believes Dafa and Teacher and strictly follows Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
She is now very energetic and the first to arrive at school. She is now a team leader and always takes responsibility to clean the classroom and help out the other teams. She always receives an “A” grade for cleaning the classroom. She collects all of the trash and dumps it into a dumpster. When her school holds its annual sports competition, she has been taking first place in the long jump.
When she was in middle school, her classmates asked her if she wanted the answers to an upcoming exam. The price was only 25 yuan. Shuqi replied: “I don't want the answers. It is not ethical to do that.” During the exam, that classmate copied the answers and tried to persuade Shuqi to copy her answers, too. Shuqi believed it was important to be truthful, so she did not look at her classmates' answers. When the test scores were announced, Shuqi's scored even higher than her classmate, receiving a 97 in math and a 93 in English.
Since there are five people in our family, including two children and one older person, Shuqi is very thrifty. In 2004, Shuqi enrolled in a university. She never competed with other students for luxurious food or fancy clothes. In her dormitory, there are seven tables. The other tables were always full of designer clothes except for hers, which was covered with textbooks and pens. At night, in order not to disturb the other students' sleep, she studied in the hallway. When it was 4 a.m., she practiced the sitting meditation for one hour and then slept for two hours. She continued this routine for the whole semester. She was very energetic and was called “superhuman” by her fellow students.
During the second semester, a student supervisor recommended that she be appointed class monitor, but she said she did not want the position. But her supervisor persuaded her to take the position, saying that she only felt assured if Shuqi was in charge. Shuqi remembered Teacher's Fa and realized that she could be a good person wherever she was. In fact, if she was in a high position, she could help even more people.
One day, Shuqi found out that her class was short 700 yuan for supplies. She used her own money to make up the difference. She always considered others first and helped others. One of her classmates had a speech problem, and so no one wanted to work with her. The due date for the year-end project was approaching, and this classmate became very anxious. Shuqi got in touch with her and worked with her for three days and three nights to complete her project. In the end, the student's work was approved by the class instructor. Another time, one of her classmates was going through some financial difficulties and was unable to pay her tuition fee, meaning that she would not be allowed to graduate. Shuqi called on her fellow students for donations and donated her entire 8,000 yuan scholarship to this student.
Three and a half years have passed. Her teachers are very satisfied with her. They said she is an honest, reliable, and organized person.
