(Clearwisdom.net) Six Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Ba Lihua, Mr. Zhang Shujun, Ms. Chen Guiying, Mr. Gao Zhongxian, Ms. Wu Yunlian and Mr. Li Dongren from Hutou Town, Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province, were arrested by police officers from the Dumuhe Forest Police Station, Dongfanghong Forestry Public Security Bureau on the afternoon of January 2, 2011, while distributing couplets (a certain type of poem often displayed on the outer doors of homes in China at the time of the New Year) in the Dumuhe Forest area. The couplets had wording praising Falun Gong. The practitioners were taken to the police station, searched and stripped down to their underwear. They were held at the detention center of the Dongfanghong Forestry Public Security Bureau.
At about 5:00 p.m., they were taken to the Dongfanghong Forestry Public Security Bureau police station, where they were interrogated and beaten. Shi Chunbao, the deputy chief of State Security Brigade of the Forestry Public Security Bureau, beat Ms. Wu Yunlian's head and face brutally with a plastic bottle filled with water while cursing at her.
On January 23, Ms. Wu Yunlian, Ms. Chen Guiying and Mr. Gao Zhongxian were released. Ms. Ba Lihua, Mr. Zhang Shujun and Mr. Li Dongren are still being held at the detention center.
Ms. Ba Lihua and Ms. Wu Yunlian went on a hunger strike to protest the torture. Ms. Ba Lihua has not been given food or water from January 2 to 22 and her health is deteriorating. Ms. Ba Lihua is emaciated and looks to be in serious condition.
