(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shang Xiping, was formerly the deputy chief of the Huanan Forestry Bureau Police Station. On February 21, 2011, he was sent to Jiamusi City Prison, and was detained in the “rigorous control” team. Every practitioner detained there is constantly surrounded by several prisoners and is deprived of their basic human rights. Even when they are allowed to go to the toilet, it is under strict control. Mr. Shang has been on a hunger strike for 9 days to protest the persecution. He was subjected to force-feeding and injected with unknown substances. He has been seriously injured as a result of torture.
Mr. Shang was arrested in September 2005 in Hegang City. On June 13, 2006, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Xiangyang District Court in Hegang City. He was initially detained at Xiangliang Prison, and was later transferred to Liangjiangkou Prison in Jiamusi City. In February 2011, the prison formed a “rigorous control” team to more heavily persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Shang was sent to this team. He wasn't allowed to the toilet without permission. He went on a hunger strike to protest the mistreatment.
On March 1, 2011, Mr. Shang's wife and other relatives went to the prison to see him. His wife had not seen her husband for two years. After a long negotiation and agreement to the prison's demands, such as not talking about Falun Gong, his wife was finally allowed to see him.
Mr. Shang was carried out by two prisoners. His face was unshaven and he looked terrible. He had been on a hunger strike for 9 days. Every day, he was force-fed and injected with unknown medications. His wife learned that he is not allowed to sit on the bed. Since there is no chair or stool, he has to either stand up or sit on the floor. He was wearing a cotton-padded jacket with two sweaters underneath and a prison uniform on top. It looked as if he is being detained in a very cold place.
