(Minghui.org) Guards at the Liaoning Women's Prison routinely order criminals to persecute the imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners. Guard Liu Jie has persecuted practitioners Zhao Hong'e, Zhang Qinghua, Yao Bo, Jiang Wei, Liu Zhi, and others.
Guard Liu Jie
Liu Jie is a guard at the Liaoning Women's Prison. She is in her fifties, and often wears a pair of colored glasses. Liu Jie is known for putting Falun Gong practitioners in solitary confinement.
Ms. Zhao Hong'e, 46, is from Dan Dong City and was put in solitary confinement by Liu Jie for one month in 2009. In 2011, guard Zhang Xiaobing found Ms. Zhao reciting the Fa with another practitioner. Guards Yu Lijie and Yang Xin put her in solitary confinement for three months. When she was released from solitary confinement, she was cursed at and criticized.
A practitioner who was being released from prison left some clothes for Ms. Yao Bo and Ms. Zhang Qinghua. This act of kindness was used as an excuse by Liu Jie to persecute the practitioners, and she prohibited them from using the washing machine. In late March 2011, Liu Jie did not allow them to purchase daily necessities because they refused to write a “thought report.”
Guards Order Criminals to Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners
Inmate Fu Yanqiu, who was assigned to monitor practitioner Ms. Yao Bo, was cruel, and often cursed at Ms. Yao. The criminals often reported to Liu Jie, and Liu Jie then cursed at Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Jiang Wei, imprisoned in the first district of this prison, showed symptoms of tuberculosis and was transferred to the infectious disease ward in the prison hospital in 2011.
Ms. Liu Zhi is from Shenyang, and was often monitored by different criminals who swore at her. In the fall of 2011, she was unable to go to the workshop to do labor because she had difficulty walking.
In the prison, on every floor there are rooms without video cameras. One room is used to hang the washed clothes, and the other is a storage room. These rooms have become the spots where steadfast practitioners are abused. Prisoners serving life sentences are transferred to the prison to persecute practitioners.
Practitioners are forced to stand or sit on a small tile without changing position or using the bathroom for the entire day. At the same time, a TV plays slanderous videos defaming Falun Gong. Jiang Yuhua, a drug dealer from Dandong, has beaten Ms. Zhang Qinghua into a coma many times.
Lang Lang, who is 27 or 28 and chief of the ward, has instructed criminals to severely beat Falun Gong practitioners. He was recently transferred to the Political Section.
Mistreatment of Practitioners in Liaoning Women's Prison
Prisoners at Liaoning Women's Prison are given only old rice. The rice looks black and has a lot of sand in it. When supervisors inspect the prison, the prison immediately stops serving the old rice, and for one month serves clean white rice. When the inspectors were present, guard Zhang Xiaobing concealed the extent of the labor work in the workshop, but after they left, she forced prisoners to work overtime.
There are often exams at the prison. Officers punish a group of prisoners if someone does not make their quota. This is to provoke hatred toward Falun Gong practitioners. For example, if one person doesn't finish her work on time, everyone in the group is forbidden to use the phone or purchase daily necessities. They will also be kept in the workshop without rest, even after they have finished their work. During the New Year holiday, all of the prisoners were deprived of rest after the prison learned that the inspecting officers would be coming.
During the summer, the prisoners are forced to buy pears, and during the Mid-autumn Festival they are forced to buy moon-cakes. During the New Year holiday, money is taken from them to buy apples. Some practitioners go a long time without seeing their relatives and they don't have any savings to support themselves. They are still forced to buy fruit, which makes them very sad and hopeless.
Starting in late 2011, all of the prisoners were required to buy their own uniforms. A winter suit is 80 yuan and a summer suit is 75 yuan.
Inmate Yu Geng, who has since been released, was responsible for forcing Falun Gong practitioners to put their fingerprints on statements that slandered Falun Gong.
Ms. Zhang Qinghua Was Once Persecuted in Shenyang Detention House
In August 2008, officers from the Shenyang Domestic Security Division who were on a stakeout around a practitioner’s home arrested Ms. Zhang Qinghua, a practitioner from Shenyang City. Three police officers took Ms. Zhang to the Chang'an Police Station, and she was transferred to a hotel that night. Ms. Zhang was locked in a chair, and forced to put her fingerprint on a statement without knowing the content. Her left shoulder was twisted so badly that she could not move it for four or five months, and her left arm had a large bump. After she was fingerprinted, she was immediately sent to the Shenyang Detention House.
In the Shenyang Detention House, Ms. Zhang refused to wear the red vest and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good.” This made the guards so angry that they stepped on her neck, twisted her arms around behind her back, and kicked and beat her. All of the guards who beat her were trained professionally.
Another Falun Gong practitioner in the detention house, Ms. Wu Naiying, was once severely persecuted and she suffered from high blood pressure and had a heart attack. The women's prison refused to admit her. The detention house paid 10,000 yuan to the prison to have her admitted.
A Young Lady Was Blessed Because She Was Kind to Falun Gong Practitioners
There was a young lady at the women's prison who had embezzled public funds and was betrayed by her friends. During her detention, she learned how to recite Hong Yin and sing Dafa songs. She often helped Falun Gong practitioners. When practitioners were being tortured, she would try to stop it, and would comfort and take care of practitioners. She was the only person who never participated in persecuting practitioners in a group of over 50 people. Initially she was sentenced to 12 years in prison. A second trial reduced the sentence to six years, and it was later reduced again by two years. She often told the prisoners that she was blessed because she was kind to Falun Gong practitioners.
