(Minghui.org) I began to practice Falun Gong in January 1999. Six months later, Jiang Zemin, the then head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), began a brutal persecution of hundreds of thousands of innocent practitioners. I was persecuted and displaced nine out of thirteen years of practicing Falun Dafa. Although I lost my job and my ordinary possessions, and was separated from my family, I feel very fortunate to be a Dafa practitioner.
After thirteen years of persecution, practitioners who are in charge of truth clarification material production sites have learned from experience to run the operation behind closed doors. They would provide the materials and not clarify the truth in person. After watching Master's lecture “Fa Teaching Given to the Australian Practitioners”, I realized that saving sentient beings is of utmost importance. In the lecture, Master emphasized grabbing sentient beings from the old forces and saving sentient beings. My understanding is that sentient beings are in a dangerous situation. In order to fulfill our historical vow and accomplish our mission, practitioners managing the production sites should take advantage of the opportunity to clarify the truth in person with rationality and wisdom, as there is an infinite number of sentient beings behind each person. Of course, this is under the condition that the production site is secure.
Master said in Zhuan Falun, “If you truly follow the righteous way in cultivation practice, nobody will dare to do something to you at will. Besides, you have the protection of my fashen, and you will not be in any danger.” With Master's encouragement, I carried truth clarification booklets, Falun Dafa amulets (1), and DVDs when going to work. I took the opportunity to talk to people when commuting to and from work or when running business errands. I told them the truth about Falun Dafa and urged them to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Master would bring predestined people to me, and they would obtain salvation upon understanding the truth.
While working at a clothing store, I used to pass by a motorcycle taxi parking lot. There were numerous motorcycles that drove in and out of the lot. I talked to the drivers every day, and as many as five to a dozen of them would quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. After understanding the truth and taking the amulets, they happily commented, “Thank you Dafa practitioner.” I was glad to see them obtain salvation and would reply, “Please do not thank me. Please thank our Master as He is the one saving us.” Because my job was temporary and unstable, four months later, after I was acquainted with almost everyone, Master arranged a new place for me to cultivate.
Master said in “What is a Dafa Disciple,”
“When someone is placed before you, there isn’t a choice—you’re wrong if you become selective in terms of saving people. As long as he is someone you run into, you should save him, regardless of his position or social status, or whether he be the president or a beggar. In the eyes of gods, beings are equal. Social status is just a distinction made in human society.”
I examined myself after reading Master's lecture and realized that I was judging people by their looks and picking who I wanted to clarify the truth to. For example, I was afraid to talk to people who were dressed in western suits, and I didn't want to talk to people who dressed sloppily, wore strong perfume, or dressed strangely. My human notion prevented me from assisting Master in saving sentient beings. Thus, I got rid of my human thoughts and talked to anyone I met. After all, I did not meet them randomly. I wanted to tell them the truth and save them.
One day I went to the market to buy groceries. I saw a seventy-year-old man sitting next to a flowerbed, as if waiting for someone. He was short, smelly, and dirty. I walked up to him and gave him a piece of fruit. I took out an amulet and asked him if he had one, and he said “No.” I said to him, “I'd like to give you this amulet. Please treasure it. You will obtain blessings after sincerely reciting the phrases on the amulet, 'Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.'” After he took the amulet, I taught him the phrases and asked him to recite them with me. He looked at the amulet, put it in his pocket, and began to cry. I think it was probably because he had been looking for Dafa arduously and had finally found it.
I have a seventy-year-old cousin. He became ill at a young age. He took the wrong type of medicine and as a result, suffered from dementia and could not speak clearly. Several days ago, I visited him and gave him an amulet. He was very happy to see me. He said he knew I did not commit any wrongdoing and but was persecuted. I told him to recite “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” every day, and the gods would protect him and give him blessings. I taught him to recite the phrases many times, and an amazing thing happened. He was able to recite the phrases clearly. I was so excited that I laughed, but my cousin began to cry. Seeing him cry made me teary. I didn't think our tears came from sentimentality, and we cried for different reasons. He cried because he had finally found Dafa, a path to return to his true self. His suffering had not been in vain, and the tears were tears of joy. I cried because I was happy that the sentient beings in his universe, as well as himself, have obtained salvation. No one can see and know what Master has done to save sentient beings. Therefore, my tears were also tears of gratitude.
On time I went to the market to clarify the truth. While I was talking to three fruit vendors, a young man wearing a camouflage outfit walked toward us. He asked what we were doing. Before I could answer, one of the vendors quickly replied, “He is telling us the truth about Falun Dafa.” After I confirmed it, the young man stood next to me and put his hand over my right wrist, the hand holding the amulets, as if to grab me. I was not afraid and continued to talk calmly about how Falun Dafa could miraculously cure illnesses, the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance guiding people to be good, the many man-made and natural calamities resulting from the current leaders doing things against heaven's will, and about quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations not being political but bringing peace to the people. The young man kept listening, as if he understood something, and took his hand off me. Although he did not quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations like the others, he asked for an amulet. As he walked away, he said to himself, “Reciting 'Falun Dafa is good' can avoid disasters and bring blessings.”
While watching him putting the amulet in his pocket, I had reverent thoughts about Master. Master had saved another sentient being from committing wrongdoings against Dafa.
Note: (1) Amulet – In China, practitioners sometimes clarify the truth by giving people something small to wear or cherish, bearing a few words reminding them of the goodness of Dafa.
