(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Shuwen, a 62-year-old deaf woman, was illegally arrested by officers from the Yongzhen Police Station in Dalian City on October 15, 2014 near her home. The police ransacked her home and confiscated all Falun Gong books, CDs, two computers, three printers, four cellphones and other personal belongings.
Although Ms. Yang was diagnosed with high blood pressure and heart problems, she was taken to the Dalian Detention Center. According to an insider, her case was accepted by the local procuratorate on November 15.
Prior Arrest and Detention in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Yang Shuwen experienced brutal persecution prior to the October arrest. She was arrested for the first time on June 29, 2011, when a group of plainclothes police broke into her home. They put her in handcuffs and placed a black cloth on her head, then ransacked her home, confiscating a desktop computer, two printers, a monitor and other personal belongings.
The police took Ms. Yang to the Fushun City brainwashing center on October 12, 2011. Four inmates were assigned to monitor her in an effort to force her to write and sign the three statements. She refused to comply with any of their demands. Ms. Yang was released after 134 days of mental and physical torture in the brainwashing center.
