(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Luo Jianrong was tried at 9 a.m. on January 17, 2014, in the Linchuan Court in Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province.
Her family hired on attorney, who pleaded not guilty on her behalf. The attorney's well-reasoned defense lasted two hours, and won a round of applause and cheers from those in attendance. The presiding judge and prosecutor had no rebuttal and looked defeated.
Ms. Luo, 46, entered the courtroom without wearing handcuffs. Present in the courtroom were presiding judge Gong Jianjian, prosecutor Huang Biao, judge Wu Juan, and about 40 observers, including Ms. Luo's family. The prosecutor charged Ms. Luo with “organizing and using an illegal organization to obstruct the law.”
Officers from the Nancheng County Police Department Domestic Security Division,followed and arrested her when she was distributing Falun Gong fliers on October 8, 2013. They confiscated her personal belongings and took her to the Second Detention Center in Linchuan, Fuzhou City. Xie Jin, a female guard in the detention center, beat her.
In April 2011, Nancheng County Police Department officers arrested Ms. Luo and several practitioners when they were reading the Falun Gong books. She was held in a forced labor camp for 18 months and released in October 2012.
