(Minghui.org) Mr. Fan Shiqiang, 50, who used to be a prison guard at Zhongzhuang Prison in Zunyi City, was arrested at home by several plainclothes officers on the evening of December 7, 2013, and is being held at the Zunyi City No. 1 Detention Center.
The next day, officers from the Ximalu Police Station, the Domestic Security Division of Huichuan District Police Department, and the Ajiasi Residence Committee broke into Mr. Fan’s home when no one was there.
They ransacked his home and confiscated two desktop computers, a laptop, a printer, a DVD writer, and two cell phones. They also confiscated his bankbook in which his mother had deposited approximately 8,000 yuan. They didn't give his family a list of the items they took.
Repeated Harassment and Arrests
Mr. Fan decided to practice Falun Dafa in 1997 and returned to good health. After the Chinese Communist Party banned Falun Dafa in 1999, he was repeatedly harassed by the local authorities and was forced to leave home off and on to escape being persecuted for not giving up practicing.
He was held and tortured at the Zunyi City Detention Center for approximately 40 days in 2002. When he was released, he had bruises all over his body.
Mr. Fan was again arrested in the summer of 2003 and taken to a brainwashing center. To resist the persecution, he went into hiding and was fired from his job for his extended absence.
When Mr. Fan returned home in 2008, he was put under house confinement and monitored 24/7. He went into hiding again to spare his family the harassment. He did not return home until 2011.
In late November 2013, a female officer from the local residents' committee and two men showed up at Mr. Fan’s home. They ordered him to sign a guarantee to stop practicing Falun Dafa. He refused and was arrested on December 7, 2013.
