(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiong Yuzhen was illegally arrested in July 2011 in Chongqing and simply disappeared. The local court has now announced that she will be tried on April 15, 2014.
Ms. Xiong’s family and friends are very angry and upset. She has been missing for nearly three years, and they want to know where she was held, what happened to her, how she is, why her family was never contacted or notified, and why the authorities waited for three years to try her.
Ms. Xiong was arrested by two plainclothes policewomen at the residential compound gate when she returned home at 12:20 p.m. on July 18, 2011. They put her in a white van, and no one heard from her after that.
Her family later learned that the two women, who were hiding in the white van waiting for Ms. Xiong, were officials from the Wulidian Comprehensive Management Office. Ms. Xiong’s daughter and siblings asked to see her several times. However, they were simply told, “She’s escaped.” All her children, relatives, and neighbors thought that she was dead.
Ms. Xiong, 62, is retired from Changan Second Factory Hospital. She was sentenced to four years in prison in 2001 and detained in Yongchuan Women’s Prison.
