(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Shanghai] Elderly Ms. Min Xiujuan Detained
Ms. Min Xiujuan, nearly 70, was arrested and taken to the Anting Town Police Station on the evening of March 17, 2014, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Twenty-four hours later she was transferred to the Jiading District Detention Center.
In 2005 Ms. Min was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. Guards at the Shanghai Women's Prison often prevented her from using the toilet. To humiliate her, they forced her to relieve herself where she was. The guards also instigated inmates to torture her. She was released in November 2011.

2. [Weinan City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Jia Ye Held in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Jia Ye is now held in the Weinan City Brainwashing Center.
3. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Huangzhou District Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office broke into five practitioners' homes to arrest them and conduct searches on March 21, 2014.
The five practitioners are: Mr. Dai Youyuan, Ms. Du Jinxiang, Ms. Zhou Jianxiang, Ms. Xu Xiulan, and another female practitioner with the last name Song.
Officers pushed Mr. Dai Youyuan, who is over 70, and he fell down. His family took him to the hospital. The other four practitioners were taken to the Huanggang City No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Xu Xiulan was released that evening.
4. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Father and Son Arrested
Mr. Guo Shuqun was arrested in Wanshan Township while selling liquified gas on March 18, 2014. His pedicab was taken away. Guo Zhenguang, director of Wen Village, Qingshui Town, and other officers later broke into his home. They ransacked it and confiscated his computer, printer, cell phones, and other personal belongings. They also arrested his son, Mr. Gou Jinyong.

5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Lizhen Detained
Ms. Li Lizhen, about 50, was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational DVDs on the afternoon of March 20, 2014. She is now in the Nangou Detention Center. The police ransacked her home that same day and confiscated over a hundred DVDs.
6. [Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wang Chunrong Detained
Ms. Wang Chunrong was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on January 24, 2014. She is now in a detention center.
7. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the 610 Office and Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Xie Guifen's home and arrested her, Mr. Liu Chengyang, Mr. Sun Yamin, Ms. Xie Guifang, and another practitioner.
8. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Three practitioners were arrested on the afternoon of March 22, 2014. Ms. Wang Zhonglan and Ms. Zhu Yulan were taken to a detention center. The police took another female practitioner with the last name Jia back to her home. The officers took her payroll card and more than 10,000 yuan in cash.
9. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhong Lifen Given Unknown Drugs
Ms. Zhong Lifen was held in the Nantong City Women's Prison in 2011, where prison guards instigated criminal inmates to give her psychiatric drugs.
