(Minghui.org) On my way home one time, I noticed an elderly woman walking awkwardly just ahead of me. Her whole body was leaning heavily to the left.
After I passed her, I glanced back and saw her rummaging through a trash bin at the corner of the apartment building.
I felt so sad for her. I went over, took some money out of my pocket, and offered it to her. She seemed embarrassed but gratefully accepted it.
I inquired about her health. She told me that she’s 86 years old and illiterate. We spoke for a while, and I told her to remember “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I told her that if she repeated these words often, she would have good health.
She happily thanked me again and again.
After she left, a man came up to me. He had been watching us, and said, “You're a good person. You will live a long life.” I smiled and responded, “Yes, because Master Li [the founder of Falun Gong] teaches me to be good to everybody.”
He told me that he was a good man, and used to help people in any kind of need around here. But he told me that, among other ailments, he now suffers from headaches and diabetes.
I asked him if he wanted to get well. He replied, “Of course! Who wouldn’t?”
I talked to him about Falun Gong's power of healing and fitness and about Jiang Zemin’s crimes of using the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) power to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
He listened intently and agreed to quite the Young Pioneers communist organization. He took the informational materials I offered him, and bid me farewell.
Former In-laws Slowly Change Their Attitude Towards Falun Gong
My former father-in-law was a school principal, and was rather arrogant. Before my divorce from his son, he was the one who treated me the best. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, he was also the one who turned against me the worst.
When he saw my determination not to give up my belief, and when I was forcibly displaced and homeless, he cut off contact and his relationship with my family.
My husband soon initiated divorce proceedings.
By that time, I had been arrested for my belief and was in prison. Because I refused to divulge my name, my family didn't know where I was. They had no idea if I was dead or alive.
I later learned that my mother-in-law had tried to have my name removed from the deed of my home. Fortunately, the authorities in charge of such matters refused to accept the application.
My home was returned to me ten years later. I now own my own home and live with my children.
Last year, when I found out that my former mother-in-law was in hospital with a cerebral hemorrhage, I immediately went there and offered to stay and take care of her.
The family was very pleased with me, and I was able to talk to them about Falun Gong and the persecution.
I remember when I used to tell them about the Chinese Communist Party's atrocities, they would promptly deny them. But now, my former mother-in-law has even withdrawn her Party membership.
My former father-in-law picks up Falun Gong materials that people leave on the streets and passes them to me.
