(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 13 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 46 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Mr. Pu Zhiming, Ms. Deng Cuiping, Ms. Qin Liyuan, Ms. Li Li and Ms. Li were arrested by officers from the Chengjiang County Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 24, 2016. Their homes were ransacked.

2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Jingxia Arrested
Ms. Li Jingxia was reported when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 25, 2016. She was arrested by three police officers.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Caixia and Daughter Arrested
Ms. Wang Caixia and her daughter were arrested by plainclothes officers on July 21, 2016.
4. [Chongqing] Ms. Zheng Chengfen Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Zheng Chengfen was arrested on July 22, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Chongqing] Ms. Qian Guangxiu Detained
Ms. Qian Guangxiu from the Shapingba District was arrested by officers from the Baihe Community Police Affairs Office when she talked to people about Falun Gong in the Baihe Community in Shiqiaopu on the morning of July 21, 2016. She is being held in the Huayan Detention Center in Jiulongpo District.
6. [Chongqing] Ms. Ren Xianglian Detained
Ms. Ren Xianglian from Yubei District was arrested by officers from the Yubei District 610 Office, administrative personnel from the neighborhood, and police assistants when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials on July 13, 2016. She is being held in the Yubei District Detention Center.
7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Lanru Detained
Ms. Xu Lanru is being held in Room 501 in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.
8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Shiying Arrested
Ms. Wu Shiying, 76, was arrested by officers from the Jinjiang District Police Department when she talked to people about Falun Gong on July 17, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, 2,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them, and printed materials. She was released that day. Ms. Wu is currently under the surveillance of the Comprehensive Management Office.
9. [Ji'an City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Dayong Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Li Dayong was recently sentenced to three years in prison by the Ji'an City Court for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

10. [Shanghai] Ms. Liu Chengying and Sister Ms. Liu Yuzhu Arrested
Ms. Liu Chengying and her sister Ms. Liu Yuzhu were arrested recently when they talked to people about Falun Gong in Xuhui District. Ms. Liu Chengying was released. Ms. Liu Yuzhu was held in the Xuhui District Detention Center.

11. [Xiamen City, Fujian Province] Ms. Li Lifang Tried in Court
Ms. Li Lifang was tried in court on July 20 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. She denied all of the illegal charges against her. The court decided to hold another trial in the future.
Ms. Li was arrested on November 15, 2015 and suddenly lost vision and hearing the next day. She was diagnosed with temporary blindness and deafness caused by extreme traumatic stress.
Such disorder may become permanent if left untreated, but the authorities have refused to grant her medical parole all these months.
12. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Yingfen Tried
Ms. Zhao Yingfen was arrested on January 1, 2016 by officers from the Baixiang County Police Department for practicing Falun Gong and holding informational materials about Falun Gong. She has been detained in the Xingtai No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao was tortured in the detention center. She was shackled twice. The first time was for 10 days and the second time was for 45 days. The guards also ordered other detainees to pull her hair, scratch her face and prick her with needles.
Ms. Zhao was tied on a bed and not allowed to use the toilet on the morning of June 29, 2016 because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises.
Her case was submitted to the Baixiang County Court at the beginning of April 2016. The court tried her on July 25, but there was no decision.
13. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Hunan and His Wife Tried by the Xiangchang District Court
The Xiangchang District Court tried Mr. Yang Hunan and his wife on the afternoon of July 18, 2016. Their families were only given ten tickets to attend the trial, even though the court has more than 30 seats.
The couple were brought to the court in handcuffs and shackles. Their lawyers asked that the handcuffs and shackles be removed, but the court guards only removed the handcuffs.
The couple stated the benefits they obtained from practicing Falun Gong. Their lawyers defended them as not guilty. The public prosecutor could not show any legal evidence against them, and remained silent.
Judge Zhang Jia announced adjournment at 5 p.m.; no decision was made.
14. [Yongjing County, Gansu Province] Mr. Dang Cunping Sentenced
Mr. Dang Cunping was sentenced to 3.5 years in July 2016 for practicing Falun Gong. He is now appealing his sentence.
Mr. Dang was arrested on February 8 of this year and given a five-month jail sentence later. The details of his trial and sentencing remain to be investigated.
15. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Two Practitioners Taken to Prison
Ms. Li Yifeng and Ms. Zhang Xiaoling were sentenced to three years in prison on April 22, 2016. They appealed to the Shantou Intermediate Court and requested a public hearing.
The Intermediate court did not inform their lawyers but held a secret session. The judge announced that the original sentences would be upheld and hurriedly ended the session.
The two practitioners were taken to the Guangzhou Women’s Prison on the morning of July 18, 2016.
16. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Tortured in Detention Center
Ms. Xu Ping and Ms. Tian Caiying are being held in the Nangou Detention Center, where they were brutally tortured.
Ms. Xu went on a hunger strike three times to protest the persecution. The guards ordered the detainees to forced-feed her brutally, humiliate and beat her. During the course of forced-feeding, about 20 detainees piled on her: some stepped on her private parts, some pulled her nipples, some pinched the area near her groin. At the last time, Ms. Xu was very weak. They force-fed her with salt water, which injured her stomach.
Ms. Tian was slapped on the face and forced to stand as punishment for not reciting the detention rules and not calling out her number. She was also not allowed to sleep. One day, several people beat and kicked her.
17. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] 26 Practitioners Arrested Recently
Twenty-six Falun Gong practitioners were arrested between July 20 and 24, 2016. Their homes were also ransacked. Twenty-three people were taken to the Nangou Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Yan from Hailang Township was arrested and her home was ransacked in the early morning hours of July 20.
Ms. Dong Weirong, Ms. Hu Fengqiu, Ms. Xu Guirong and Mr. Pan Fude from Dongzhou District, Mr. Lu Qing, Mr. Li Mingyuan and his wife Yu Fengjuan from Ajingou were arrested at their homes, respectively, on the night of July 21.
Four practitioners were arrested while they were studying the teaching of Falun Gong at Ms. Jiang Shunai’s home on July 21.
The following practitioners were arrested on July 22, including Ms. Peng Jie, Mr. Yan Mingyu and his wife Liu Lang from Xinfu District; Mr. Li Gang, Ms. Li Yanrong, Ms. Qin Zengyun, Mr. Yu Qinghai and his wife Chen Wenhua from Dongzhou District; Ms. Wang Hong from Shuncheng District.
Ms. Li Haiyan and her husband from Dongzhou District were arrested on July 24.
