(Minghui.org) Some of our human notions and attachments are deeply buried, such as that of relying on others, including everyday people.
When I contacted Chinese government officials or 610 Office staff to tell them about Falun Gong, I often talked about how other officials had been taken down in the recent wave of anti-corruption campaigns in China. Because these officials had been involved in persecuting Falun Gong, I used examples of what happened to them to help people understand the situation.
I thought that I was doing well. However, when I recently read two articles, “Stay Clearheaded” and “The Ultimate Goal of Clarifying the Truth,” I had a better understanding of this. I also realized that I relied too much on everyday people.
It was as if I could not clarify the truth without using these former and current Party leaders as examples. This had become an attachment. When analyzed why I kept doing this – I noticed that my understanding of the Fa was limited, so my actions were driven by human notions. I am not saying that we should not use current events to help us talk to people, it's how we use the information.
If we subconsciously rely on the leaders' actions, we might say they are cleaning up China. We might even say that we hope they will restore the reputation of Falun Gong in China. I feel that it's inappropriate to think this way.
After all, the current leaders still represent the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). If we rely on them too much, it will negatively affect our truth-clarification efforts. We need to separate the current leaders from the Party. We also should not speculate on what the current leader's opinion of the Party is, and we do not want to explain the situation as a power struggle within the CCP.
If we rely on the current leaders, we may not achieve what Master mentioned in “The Ultimate Goal of Clarifying the Truth.” In fact, subconsciously we may still be hoping the Party will change.
We should stop relying on everyday people, eliminate our human notions and replace them with righteous thoughts. Even if we are still using examples such as Jiang Zemin's officers being taken down, we can help people understand that this is inevitable because they harmed so many innocent people. We can even say that this is a manifestation of the heavenly law, “Good is rewarded and evil is punished.” China's current leaders are pieces of the entire puzzle that operate under heaven's law.
We can point out how officials involved in the persecution were taken down one after another. We can mention how the Party always shifts the blame to others when it harms people. For example, to ease tension after political campaigns, the Party picked some key officials for execution and blamed them for the entire disaster. Then, we can talk about the basis of communism, its history of killing, and how it damages the traditional culture of whatever nation it operates in. When we point out its track record, its true nature is obvious.
People will realize that some officials stopped persecuting Falun Gong because they acknowledged China's traditional values: “Good is rewarded and evil is punished.” When we correct people's misunderstanding that the Party is helping them, they will see what is going on and want to separate themselves from it.
In “Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference”, Master said, “We do not praise or criticize the current leadership, and this is the principle.” My understanding of this sentence is that we should not rely on the current leadership. If we praise them, the old forces may see this and could reverse the situation; If we criticize them we may not be able to save them.
These are some of my understandings. Let us make the best use of the time we have left to improve ourselves, let go of human notions, and to do the three things well with righteous thoughts.
