(Minghui.org) As Dafa disciples, we must seize the day to study the Fa and do the exercises every day, except when we face extenuating circumstances. These are required subjects and necessary homework in our cultivation. It is also the critical foundation for sending righteous thoughts, clarifying the truth, and achieving the personal accomplishments of a practitioner.
I have found that some fellow practitioners are performing poorly when it comes to Fa study and doing the exercises. It is not because they are short on time, yet they only read Zhuan Falun a very few times during the entire year and seldom do the exercises.
Some practitioners who shoulder the responsibility of mass producing truth-clarification materials are among those who are not diligent in what I call practitioners' homework.
After repeated reminders by other practitioners, they acknowledged their problem, but did not address their shortcomings. Some have not realized their problem and keep immersing themselves in the routine printing and machine maintenance work, believing that everyday work would count as cultivation and would be enough. We are practitioners. It is not our intent to merely turn into ordinary people who assist and participate in Dafa activities.
What has caused fellow practitioners to behave like this? It is our own weakness, rather than any external pressure. Maybe it is the attachment to a comfortable life. Maybe it is laziness or slacking off after years of cultivation. It is not necessary to make assumptions, but to find where one is lacking in determination.
Have we forgotten that there will be an end to cultivation? And that moment could come at any time. If Fa-rectification ended today, how would we have fared in the whole process? Where could Master place us in the new cosmos? As we have waited millions of years for this moment in history, we simply cannot let it slip through our fingers.
If we take a step back and assume that Fa-rectification won't end that quickly, isn't it an even stricter test of our willpower? Master said, “The closer to the end, the more diligent you should be.” (The Essentials of Diligent Progress, Vol. III)
Seeing our state of cultivation, wouldn't Master be worried? And since I have noticed practitioners' issues, I should search within to see whether I too harbor any human attachments to get rid of. Master said that practitioners should look at themselves when noticing others' shortcomings.
The above sharing is not meant to target any specific practitioner, but is presented with the hope that those with the aforementioned problems can catch up quickly, so that all practitioners will improve together as a whole body.
