(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Shulan, a 71-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, lives on Wanxin Street, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. She was arrested by officers from the Laohutai Police Station on February 1, 2018. The police tried to hold her in the detention center, but she was rejected due to her poor health. However, the police have been continuously harassing her since then.
Ms. Wang was arrested around 2 p.m. on February 1, 2018. After interrogating her for seven hours, the officers took her to the detention center for a physical examination and to have her blood tested.
The detention center refused to accept Ms. Wang because her blood pressure was too high. The police took her back to the police station. One officer said, “We will detain you despite your high blood pressure.” They kept her at the station until midnight and then finally took her home.
The police phoned Ms. Wang's family about two weeks later and told them that she had to report to the police station the next day. The family told the police that she could not report to them because her leg had been injured during the last arrest. They also asked the police why they’d kept her so late, given her advanced age.
The police officers went to Ms. Wang's home two days later, pretending to be concerned about her injury. They returned a few days later with an agent from the procuratorate to take her statement.
The agent found that Ms. Wang was very feeble and said, “How can she give a statement in her condition?”
But the police still would not give up. They continued to assemble materials to incriminate Ms. Wang. They went to her home again and tried to take blood samples from her, and they forced her to put her fingerprints on various documents.
Her family has been under tremendous pressure due to the continuous police harassment and intimidation.
