(Minghui.org) After a little boy witnessed the arrests of his grandparents and mother over the course of four days, he was so terrified that he became mute.
Haohao's grandmother, Ms. Zheng Quanhua, and his mother, Ms. Liang Yanni, both practice Falun Gong, a mind-body practice being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Zheng, a native of Pingdu City, Shandong Province, had been arrested multiple times in the past for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. She and her husband later moved to Laixi City to live with her son's family.
Ms. Zheng and her husband were caring for their grandson Haohao on July 17, 2018, when more than a dozen officers broke into their home. They arrested her on the grounds that she wrote a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping to complain about former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for illegally initiating the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Liang and her husband went to the local police station to seek Ms. Zheng's release. The police revealed that their superiors were under tremendous pressure because of Ms. Zheng's letter to Xi.
Ms. Liang said what her mother-in-law wrote in the letter were all facts about how she had been persecuted for her faith. The police ordered Ms. Liang to sign her name to confirm all the statements she made at the police station were true. She complied, not knowing that her signature would be used to arrest her two days later.
Three officers showed up at the family's home on July 19. They deceived Ms. Zheng's husband, Mr. Yu Haibo, into going with them to pay the fee for his wife's medical exam. Mr. Yu was arrested and taken straight to Laixi City Detention Center.
Ms. Liang was arrested on July 20 and taken to Pudong Detention Center.
Haohao stopped talking after his mother was taken away. He is now being cared for by relatives.
