(Minghui.org) Ms. Wu Xiufang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Fuxin City, Liaoning Province, was taken to Liaoning Province Women's Prison at the end of June 2016 to serve a three-year term.
Reports suggest that she suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage due to mistreatment in prison. Ms. Wu has since returned home and is under the care of her daughter and son-in-law. Her pension has been suspended.
Ms. Wu was arrested on August 18, 2015, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong and its persecution by the Chinese communist regime. She was held in the Xindi Detention Center and soon sentenced to three years in prison.
According to informed sources, while in prison she lost the ability to talk and move her eyes. She was also emaciated and could not care for herself.
It was soon reported that she may have been taken to the Municipal Mining General Hospital. Her family learned, however, that Ms. Wu had left the hospital on August 30, 2018. The attending physician said that Ms. Wu was not conscious while there, though she could sense pain. It was at that time that she had a nasogastric feeding tube inserted.
