(Minghui.org) Teacher requires Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples to do the three things well: studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts, and clarifying the truth about Dafa.
Sending righteous thoughts is an ability that allows us to eliminate demons and anything that is evil. It is a sacred mission that Teacher gives to Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples.
Understanding the Importance of Sending Righteous Thoughts
I used to lead a group of young practitioners to do the exercises at school, and some of them saw interference by demons and other evil entities in another dimension. As soon as we sent righteous thoughts, they were eliminated.
One young practitioner whose character was quite good saw things clearly in another dimension. He fought with evil beings even during sleep. In the dream, he was being attacked by many mechanical monsters, and so he sent righteous thoughts to eradicate them.
He also saw that whenever we did the sitting meditation, demons and other evil entities would attack and grab young practitioners. So he and other practitioners fought with them. The war was fierce, and often some practitioners were killed or injured in other dimensions. Whenever they seemed to be defeated, Teacher would appear, and the demons would immediately be eliminated. The minute Teacher's power manifested, bright light would shine from above, those who died would be resurrected, and the injured would recover.
I was shocked by their descriptions, so I paid a lot of attention to sending righteous thoughts. When I felt something was wrong, I quietly recited the verses.
I noted that the Minghui website said sending forth righteous thoughts can be done in any environment, whether we are walking, eating, or working. It doesn't have to be while sitting in meditation, and it can be done with the eyes open or closed. The hand gestures are not required either, but we must concentrate our efforts on our thoughts and make sure that our mind is focused, pure and steady.
When a young practitioner had sickness karma, he had the symptoms of a bad cold for many days and missed school. Another young practitioner whose third eye was open said that demons and evil entities were by his side. When they saw gaps that they could sneak in, they would jump right in. But, Teacher and many righteous Gods were all assisting us. When we acted like everyday people, there was nothing they could do. In this particular practitioner's case, he shouldn't have been sick for so long. But, he saw in another dimension that he didn't cultivate diligently, which gave the evil an opportunity to sneak in.
All these youngsters were new practitioners. They only spent 40 minutes a week to study the Fa and do the exercises, yet their righteous thoughts were so powerful. I've led them in their cultivation for a long time, which enabled me to see the importance of sending righteous thoughts and reciting the verses. In addition, we must also study the Fa well in order to do better on our cultivation path.
A young practitioner once told me that he saw in another dimension that those whose cultivation state was good were divine beings who radiated bright light. Demons and other evil entities didn't dare to get close to them. Just a glance would dissolve them into water.
Sending Righteous Thoughts to Help Practitioners with Sickness Karma
I took care of two practitioners from Liaoning Province, where the persecution is most severe. One of them had been held in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. After they left China, they developed the attachment of seeking comfort. Their bodies were ulcerated, and they lay in bed all day long. They couldn't study the Fa or do the exercises, and they lost their righteous thoughts. So they were told to come to my home. A practitioner from Taipei came to see them. But as soon as she stepped into the door, she felt very uncomfortable and dizzy. She said, “Your home has an evil field!” before taking off.
I knew her remark was a hint from Teacher. I asked the elderly practitioners at a practice site to come to my house to study the Fa after they were done with the exercises. In addition, they sent righteous thoughts every hour on the hour. The righteous thoughts reduced the persecution of these two practitioners from other dimensions, and they recovered after some time.
One practitioner said that when she came, she didn't have the mentality of helping others. In the end, it was she herself who benefited from it, as she studied the Fa more and sent righteous thoughts frequently. She cultivated away many attachments and felt that she had elevated in the process.
Indeed, the process of helping other practitioners is also one of helping ourselves. During this time, a practitioner complained about the two practitioners. I felt it was a test of our compassion and endurance. When we let go of the thought and help others unconditionally, our righteous thoughts are more effective.
We participated in a parade in Chicago in 2004. One practitioner suffered from sickness karma when she got up in the morning. Her feet were swollen, and she seemed unable to participate in the parade. I told her it was interference because Teacher wouldn't arrange for her not to validate the Fa. I asked everyone to send righteous thoughts to eliminate the interference.
So, the four of us who shared the room sat down and sent righteous thoughts. The air conditioning was on at the time, and I was wearing a sweater. But as soon as I sat down, I felt hot and removed the sweater. I cleansed myself during the first five minutes. As soon as I said her name out loud during the next five minutes, I felt many unknown things rushing at me. I couldn't see them, but they were on my skin, and I got goosebumps. The righteous thoughts made them disappear. After we sent forth righteous thoughts twice, the practitioner felt much better and was able to get up and participate in the parade.
She said she felt that something came out of her body when we were sending righteous thoughts. Before that, she felt almost suffocated and about to die, but all these things were gone after we sent forth righteous thoughts.
In another case, a practitioner was rushed to the hospital, bleeding heavily. An assistant told us to help her send righteous thoughts. That evening, I felt an invisible thing pressing down on me and making indecent moves. Immediately I realized that it was a demon of lust. I said the verses for sending righteous thoughts, and it was like a whiff of smoke being blown away.
Eliminating the Sleep Demon
For a long time, a practitioner was frustrated because she had a difficult time getting up in the morning to go to the practice site to do the exercises. She asked me to help, so I stayed at her house that night. She had several alarm clocks arranged in a row at the bedside and set them to ring every few minutes, but they still couldn't wake her up! It was obvious that she was being interfered with by the demon of sleep.
The next day, the moment the alarm went off, I got up. But I just couldn't wake her up. So I asked her to send righteous thoughts with me to eliminate the sleep demon. After the righteous thoughts, she became alert, and we went to the practice site together.
She found the righteous thoughts very effective. In fact, she said when she was in bed, she was in a half-awake state. I reminded her to send righteous thoughts if it happened again.
Sending Righteous Thoughts at Tourist Sites
I used to live in Taipei for many years and was quite close to a tourist attraction. Once, when I went there to clarify the truth, I felt weak and couldn't ride my bike. The bicycle felt very heavy, and I almost fainted. I realized it was interference as my body was cleansed when I first obtained the Fa and I had not experienced any sickness karma. So I sent righteous thoughts to eliminate the interference. After that, I recovered and had the strength to ride my bike.
There was another time when I went to that tourist site and almost fainted. Some other times I fell for unknown reasons while riding my bicycle, sometimes getting injured as a result. I knew that it was interference. Sometimes I wanted to make a detour to go home, but when my righteous thoughts were strong, I wouldn't go home, and as soon as I arrived at the tourist site, I felt fine.
I took truth-clarification at that tourist site seriously. No matter how busy I was, I persisted in studying one lecture of the Fa before leaving. The evil field at the tourist site was strong. We were often interfered with, and I was often attacked by people acting on behalf of the Chinese consulate. Sometimes I couldn't guard my xinxing. A few times, when we sent righteous thoughts continuously, we could feel that the air was fresh again and our heads were clear. I also felt that my dimensional field was clean.
Teacher said,
“Dafa disciples’ sending forth righteous thoughts at this special historic period—in order to reduce the evil beings’ persecution of Dafa, Dafa disciples, and the people of the world—has played a very critical role. A large number of evil beings have been cleaned out in a timely manner before the force of Fa-rectification arrives, and this has reduced many potential losses.” (“Righteous Thoughts”, The Essentials of Diligent Progress Vol. III)
Teacher reminded us that when we clarify the truth, we had to pay attention to sending righteous thoughts to clear out our fields so that we would not be taken advantage of by demons.
I sent forth strong righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors that interfered with our truth-clarification at the tourist site, and I felt that the power I sent off was stronger than normal. The intensive righteous thoughts exhausted me and made me want to lie down. When I felt the demons were too forceful, I asked Teacher and Gods to help.
I still remember the time when Jiang Zemin visited the U.S. and many practitioners went to Texas to send righteous thoughts intensively. At the time, those young practitioners whose third eyes were open saw that many dimensions were pitch dark from being covered with demons. Loads of them were cleared away and then quickly replenished. The demons got more and more vicious, and they scared the young practitioners. They said they lost their righteous thoughts and would then lose the battle. They told me to ask Teacher for help. Once these words were spoken, they saw Teacher's law body arrive and sit with us. Immediately the demons were eliminated.
