(Minghui.org) Mr. Lai was riding his motorcycle on the way to a wheat field when he hit a utility pole. It was May, the planting season, and the many farmers working nearby came to his rescue. An ambulance was called. He was unconscious and had an open fracture of the skull. One witness at the scene wasn't optimistic about his recovery. He said, “He isn't going to make it. His skull is open and covered in blood – only god can save him...”
The extensive bleeding in the brain meant the injury was inoperable. Mr. Lai's family waited to see what would happen and hoped for a miracle.
Mr. Lai was still in a coma on the second day. He and his wife were Falun Dafa practitioners. Mrs. Lai believed her husband would be all right. Mr. Lai has practiced Falun Dafa for over 20 years and has always been steadfast and diligent on his cultivation path. He believed in Dafa and Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa.
Mrs. Lai and other practitioners gathered around him and sent righteous thoughts around the clock.
Witnessing the Power of Dafa
A few days passed and Mr. Lai's condition didn't improve. Doctors were preparing his family for the worst. Firmly believing in Dafa and Master Li, Mrs. Lai and the group of practitioners kept sending righteous thoughts nonstop by Mr. Lai's bedside.
Mrs. Lai one day saw a glowing Falun (law wheel) spinning over her husband's head. The Falun was cleaning the residual blood from his brain. At the sight of this, Mrs. Lai cried and said to the other practitioners: “Master Li is here. Master is using a Falun to clean his body, he will get better.”
Mr. Lai woke up on the 12th day after the accident. Without any medical intervention, he recovered from the hemorrhage in his brain.
Witnessing Improvement
Mr. Lai was unable to talk and had lost much of his memory. He couldn't recognize many of his family and friends. However, he knew he was a Dafa practitioner and that Master would help him. Mr. Lai was discharged from the hospital after 15 days.
Friends and neighbors came to visit, but Mr. Lai could not remember anyone. Those who were at the scene of the accident couldn't believe that he had survived.
The only non-family members Mr. Lai recognized were Mrs. Feng's family. Mrs. Feng and her family were also practitioners. Mr. Lai went to Mrs. Feng's house for Fa-study and doing the Falun Dafa exercises every day. Her family was happy to help the Lai's. Mrs. Feng even sent her son to Mr. Lai's farm to help with the harvest.
Mr. Lai had to learn how to talk again. He would smack his head when he felt frustrated. Mrs. Fang and her daughter-in-law encouraged him. With one word at a time it resulted in him reading complete sentences in Zhuan Falun, the main book of Dafa.
With daily Fa-study, doing the exercises, and strong righteous thoughts, Mr. Lai's xinxing improved rapidly. He became more thoughtful toward others and tried to be as independent as possible.
Six months later, Mr. Lai was speaking and reading complete sentences. He slowly regained his memory and his strength. He rides a bicycle and walks just as he did before the accident.
During the planting and harvesting seasons, Mr. Lai works on the farm. He sometimes picks up jobs as a contractor at construction sites. Mr. Lai often tells people, “I got better because I practice Falun Dafa – Master saved me and gave me a second life.”
