(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Shuicheng Tried for Second Time
Mr. Wang Shuicheng was tried via video-link by the Chikan District Court in Zhanjiang City on June 2, 2020. His lawyer received a phone call from judge Wang Jun’en of the Chikan Court on July 23 telling him that the court has scheduled a second trial for Mr. Wang on July 28, again via video-link.
Mr. Wang is being held in the Wuchuan Detention Center and will stand trial there.
2. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lin Liying Arrested and Pension Suspended
Ms. Lin Liying from Shantou City was arrested at her son's home in Dongguan City on May 3, 2020. Officers searched the property, and confiscated Falun Gong books, printers, and other belongings.
Officers went to Ms. Lin's home in Shantou City a week later, and confiscated her Falun Gong books, printers, and other belongings.
Ms. Lin is a retiree of the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Her pension has been suspended.
3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Rulan Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Liu Rulan from Qingdao City was tried via video-link in the Pudong Detention Center on the afternoon of July 30, 2020. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term and fined 6,000 yuan.
4. [Tianjin] Ms. Cao Di Arrested, Ms. Wang Guizhen Held in Detention Center
Ms. Cao Di from the Xiqing District taught in the Tianjin Sixth High School several years ago. A student's parent reported her for talking to students about the persecution of Falun Gong, and called the school numerous times a day, and forced the school to fire her. While Ms. Cao was distributing Falun Gong fliers in front of her community buildings on July 15, 2020, someone reported her. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. Falun Gong books and other belongings were confiscated. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Wang Guizhen from the Hongqiao District was arrested by officers from the Hedong District Police Department. Her two computers and other belongings were confiscated. She is being held in the Caozhuangzi Detention Center.
5. [Shanghai] Ms. Yao Guizhen and Ms. Wang Qiuju Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Yao Guizhen was sentenced to a four-year-and-three-month prison term by the Jingan District Court on the afternoon of July 29, 2020. Ms. Wang Qiuju was sentenced to a 16-month prison term.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Several practitioners were arrested by seven or eight plainclothes officers claiming to be from the Houhu Police Station on July 14, 2020, while they were reading Zhuan Falun in Mr. Zhao's home.
Three officers blocked the door and prevented anyone from leaving. A practitioner jumped from a second floor window and broke her leg. The officers heard the sound and arrested her. She was taken to a hospital.
Mr. Zhao’s home was ransacked. The officers confiscated computers, printers, printed materials, over 200,000 yuan in cash, and other belongings. They arrested all the practitioners in the apartment. Many of them were in their 70s or 80s. The eldest was over 90 years old.
7. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ge Yuanhong Facing Trial
Mr. Ge Yuanhong from Zhucheng City is due to stand trial in the Gaomi City Court on the morning of August 5, 2020. His case was first heard in the Zhucheng Court, but was later transferred to the court in Gaomi.
8. [Shanghai] Ms. Bai Xiuli Detained
Ms. Bai Xiuli from Shanghai was arrested by officers from the Xidu Police Station on July 18, 2020. Police confiscated her Falun Gong books, portable hard disks, U-discs, TF cards, and other belongings. She was detained for 5 days and released on July 24.
9. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sang Peiyao's Home Ransacked, Mr. Guo Shibin Harassed
Mr. Sang Peiyao’s home was ransacked by three officers from the Gucheng Police Station on July 10, 2020. A picture of Falun Gong's founder was confiscated.
The same officers went to search Mr. Guo Shibin's home later that day, but he refused to let them in.
10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Sulian Arrested and Released the Same Day
Ms. Gao Sulian, 54, from Qingdao City was arrested by officers from the Hongdao Police Station for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the police station, and released later that night.
11. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shao Zhanpeng Detained
Mr. Shao Zhanpeng from Pingdu City was arrested in the Qingdao Railway Station on the morning of July 29, 2020. He was taken to Pingdu Criminal Brigade and was interrogated. He has been held there since.
Mr. Shao is the son of Ms. Zhan Zhongxiang, and was arrested for seeking justice for his mother, who was arrested in September 2019 and is scheduled to be tried in August 2020.
12. [Shuihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Dexia Arrested
Ms. Yu Dexia from Lanxi County was arrested in a supermarket near her home on June 20, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers searched her and confiscated copies of Minghui Weekly, and paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them.
13. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Suyan Arrested
Ms. Liu Suyan from Renqiu City was arrested by officers from the Zhonghua Road Police Station on the morning of July 30, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and MP3 players, keepsakes, and U-discs were confiscated.
14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Jinfeng and Ms. Wang Jinfeng Harassed
Ms. Guo Jinfeng's home in Anguo City was ransacked on July 29, 2020. She managed to escape.
Ms. Wang Jinfeng was harassed by officers from the Anguo Domestic Security Division on July 30. Her personal belongings were confiscated. The officers later returned to her home to arrest her, but she had already left.
15. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Xianglan and Mr. Liu Xuejun Held in Detention Center
Ms. Chen Xianglan and Mr. Liu Xuejun were arrested by officers from the Fuyuan Police Station on the morning of July 20, 2020, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Fuyang Park. The officers went to Mr. Liu’s home, ransacked the place, and confiscated the book Zhuan Falun.
Ms. Chen and Mr. Liu were held in the Handan City Detention Center for ten days.
16. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Jing Held in Custody
Ms. Fu Jing, 46, an employee of the Fuyu County Market Supervision Bureau, was arrested at work by officers from the Caihong Police Station in Qiqihar City on July 30, 2020. The officers then went to her home and ransacked the place.
Ms. Fu is being held in the Caihong Police Station.
17. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Chen Mingyou Harassed
Mr. Chen Mingyou, 80, was harassed by officer Jiang Xin and others from the Zhoushuiqiao Police Station. They went to his home three times and coerced him into denouncing Falun Gong in writing.
Mr. Chen told them the facts of Falun Gong, but they didn't want to listen and said that they would come back.
Mr. Chen’s wife, Ms. Zhang Renying, has been imprisoned since the beginning of 2019.
18. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Yunliang Harassed
Mr. Wu Yunliang from Anguo City received a call from an unknown number on July 29, 2020. The caller was very rude and asked Mr. Wu if he was still practicing Falun Gong, where he lived, and threatened to suspend his wages. The caller may be from the Anguo Domestic Security Division.
19. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Huilan Harassed Repeatedly
Ms. Liu Huilan was harassed at home by plainclothes officers from the Xiangshui Police Station on July 17, 2020. They ransacked her home, confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, and a copy of Minghui Weekly.
She was harassed at home again by two officers on July 23 and 27.
20. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Jinying and Mr. Wang Yusheng Arrested, Mr. Li Chengmin Held in Detention Center
Ms. Lu Jinying and Mr. Wang Yusheng from Liaocheng City were arrested on July 6, 2020.
Mr. Li Chengmin from Chiping County was arrested by officers from Qihe County in Dezhou City on July 8. He is being held in the Dezhou Detention Center.
21. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Liwen Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Wang Liwen from Jinzhou City was arrested by officers from the Shangcheng Police Station on July 15, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked the next day. She was taken to the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center on July 16, and has been held there since.
Shangcheng Police Station recently submitted documents to the Jinzhou Procuratorate to approve the arrest, but it wasn't approved due to a lack of evidence.
22. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuqin Detained and Released, Ms. Wang Weiyi Transferred to Another Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Xiuqin and her daughter Ms. Wang Weiyi were held in the Weizigou Detention Center in Changchun City for ten days.
Ms. Zhang was then released, while Ms. Wang was transferred to the Changchun Fourth Detention Center.
