(Minghui.org) After persistent efforts by Falun Gong practitioners to raise awareness about the persecution of their faith in the past two decades, many of their family members have understood the facts and support their loved ones in upholding Falun Gong. In two harassment cases in Xishui County, Hubei Province, the practitioners’ family members stood up for them and drove away the officials who came to harass them.
Practitioner’s Husband: “Go Away, You Are Not Welcome Here!”
Two police officers, a man and a woman, went to a senior practitioner's home in August 2019. The practitioner's husband, who didn't practice Falun Gong, stopped them outside the gate, “What are your looking at? Falun Gong practitioners are all good people. Society is so rotten but you don't care, all you know is how to suppress honest people. Go away, you are not welcome here.” The two officers could do nothing, and left.
Family Members Resist Harassment
A group of armed officers harassed four practitioners on October 16-20, 2020, including Huang Simei, Cai Guilian, Chen Chunzhi, and Chen Haiguo. The practitioners’ family members strongly resisted the persecution and prevented the officers from taking the practitioners away.
While harassing the practitioners, the officers usually waited outside of their apartments and broke into the homes at night when the practitioners' children came home from attending evening study hall at school.
The officers always came in a large group, but they appeared to be afraid of the practitioners and their family members. When asked why they came to their homes at night, the officers first said they were investigating a big case. Only when the practitioners’ family members asked them to show a search warrant did the officers change course and admit that they were police and came to look for Falun Gong practitioners.
Some of the practitioners’ family members talked to the officers in a loud voice, so as to let their neighbors know what was happening there. In some cases, they insisted on blocking the officers outside of their door.
