(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners have been harassed, arrested and sentenced in Yanshi, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Luoyang, during June and July 2014.
Police Ransacked Homes and Arrested Seven Practitioners
Police in Goushi Town, Yanshi City, ransacked the homes of several practitioners in the evening of July 20. Seven practitioners were arrested. They are: Sun Yaoting, Sun Mengliang, Fengqin, Sugai, Mr. Zhang Jiancheng, Ms. Li Miaoneng and Ms. Yang Qiaofen.
Mr. Zhang Jiancheng and Ms. Li Miaoneng, husband and wife, own a business. They were not at home in the evening of July 20, so some police climbed over a wall and forcibly entered their house. They confiscated Falun Gong books, computers, printers and commercial goods. Local police have ransacked the couple's home numerous times over the years and have confiscated many commercial products and money.
Police broke into the home of Ms. Yang Qiaofen on July 20 and confiscated some of her personal belongings.
Practitioners Tried and Sentenced
Officials from the Yanshi Court held an illegal trial against Ms. Yan Qiaoju and Ms. Gao Miaoge on June 5. Ms. Yan was sentenced to five years in prison and Ms. Gao was sentenced to three years.
Forty police vehicles and over 100 personnel from the police department, 610 Office, domestic security division, riot squad and the county government videotaped, photographed and harassed people in the crowd that were waiting outside the court.
A trial was held against Mr. Liu Ganyong, Ms. Wang Haiying and Mr. Chen Weixu on July 16 at the Chanhe District Court in Luoyang. Practitioners from the Luoyang and Yanshi area gathered outside the court and were photographed, videotaped and harassed by plainclothes officers.
